I may be reading into this way to much but does anyone else think stark weather might know more about tessa then what was mentioned in clockwork prince? I was re-reading it n thought this part seemed a bit sus..."his flashing eyes came to rest on Tessa then, and he stopped abruptly, his mouth open, as if he had been slapped in the face mid sentence"
Ok I could be totally over annalising here but to me It sounds like he was never expecting to see Tessa ever and that he didn't stop talking just cause she was a girl or something?. I duno but I think he knows something that he wasn't saying and also when Tessa changes into stark weather and she sees her face in his memories...I dont know people..HELP???

I've been thinking about that too and I can't come up with anything...the wait for CP2 is too long!

I know cause at the end after the clockwork bugs things attacked he went to Tessa and was all worried I don't get

SO many connections to TMI I hope it all starts to make more sense in the next books!

And the next series has a carstairs in it...so excited

you know what I think? I think that if Tessa's mother was really a shadow hunter then maybe she's related to Starkweather. That would explain why Mortmane sought out Tessa's mother for his experiment because he may have known her from when he lived in Yorkshire. Tessa's mother may even be his Granddaughter from the picture. Just theories I guess but it would explain Starkweathers odd behaviour plus his protectiveness towards Tessa at the end.

See that's what I thought at first then I skimmed through the first book again and it actually says that she barely remembers what her mother looks like the only thing she had of her's was the necklace and nothing else .

So if Tessa's mother is a shadowhunter what does that make Tessa?

see I don't think Tessa's mother was an normal shadowhunter taking my theory in to further consideration and a greater recollection I think the story of the changeling's the fairy told Tessa and Starkweather's ordeal fit together Hanna was right that's not Tessa's Mother in the picture it's an ill fairy. I think the fay may have swapped it for Tessa's mother ie starkweather's real granddaughter. what that would make Tessa is probably a shadow hunter with extra powers I guess.
I don't know these are just theories .=) I tend to over think books

well it says her father is a demon. but I think mortmane may have experimented on her actual father (the guy married to her mother)with out him realising.

and I totally agree with you that whole immortal thing is driving me nuts. who know's maybe she's not or maybe Will and Jem become immortal. But we'll just have to wait and see I guess.

But Clary saw her in City of Glass and she looked familiar to her. That's been bugging me ever since I found out that it was Tessa in CoG!

I really need CP2 now! There are just too many unanswered questions

Well that ties in with the farie who was talking to Tessa at the lightwoods party cause why else would Cassandra Clare put that in there if it didn't mean anything later down the track???

I know but it says in Cassandra Clares site that it may have been Tessa in the flesh or it may have been the ghost of Tessa that was in CoG we'll just have to wait and see I seriously can't wait .

When even is the release date for clockwork princess? I can't find it anywhere. I don't think I can wait much longer, I keep re-reading The Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments waiting for City of Lost Souls and Clockwork Princess.

City of lists souls come out this yr and cp2 mid next yr ATM but I dontthink there is an official release date

I have seen a date as early as November 2012 to as late as September 2013. So I was curious to see what the set release date was, I hope it is November 2012, otherwise I might have Clockwork Angel and Clockwork Prince committed to memory at the rate I'm reading them. It's probably a good thing I have them as ebooks, otherwise I might wear through the spine.

Tessa mom isn't his granddaughter because in the book we found what happened to his granddaughter . She died young .

ya she probably was a changeling I think his real granddaughter was swapped by the fairies meh its only a guess.

I agree with you. It is a world of possibilities, though the first time I read the book, I just took that to mean that he saw his granddaughter in Tessa and it just startled him.

I'm certain there's some connection between Tessa and Starkweather otherwise why did Cassie even mention his deceased granddaughter, i think that loose end will definitely get tied up in CP2 when we finally find out what/who Tessa really is.
