What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

For longer than I care to remember I have been looking for a ghost story that I read in a book borrowed from my school library as a 14yr old back in the early 70's.

It would seem my memory however played tricks or perhaps I've just read too many ghost stories but this is what I'd borrowed and read;

I got some things right, although the name wasn't Beelzebub as I thought, but Balthazaar Beel. In the story the book that the collector is looking for is called 'The Burning of Balthazaar Beel' published in 1702 by a Thomas Purcell and there is only one copy in existence which the protaganist steals.

Anyway the story is called 'Bookworm' by John Edgell. It made such an impression on me.
