Do you mean the Bartimeaus trilogy or Sabriel? They are both fantasy: Both have strong opening chapters that pretty much reflect the style of the rest of the books, so if you get 50 pages in and you don't like either, then perhaps they're not for you. I would say that Nix is a slightly older read.

I meant Sabriel. Bartimaeus trilogy is possibly my favourite series ever.

Yes there are Holly, you can check on the home page of the group. This month's are

There Erika I did your job for you...:D

Hello everyone who is new to the group!

I love Harry Ptter , the Iron Fey and all the Shadowhunter series...that is really just a start but hey I only have so much space.

So far, we've read, "Divergent," "Shiver" and "Matched." Currently we are reading "Uglies." What's with all the single word titles? Just noticed that,...weird.
I'm looking for suggestions of books to put on our reading list. I will post in the MISC or SURVEY topics and see where I end up.
Thanks!
hi Paige! Welcome to the group! Here you'll find lots of books to read with your club! :)

My, you are not going to be short of book titles! You could have a look at the Carnegie Medal ShortList that is up on the Misc section of the YA group as a starting point.

And hi Paige!

So far, so good. I like it very much. I'm about half way in. I've had good reviews from 3 of my Book Club girls too.

Here's a intro of my reading history...XD
I started reading children's books(mostly Enid Blyton) when I was 7; discovered Harry Potter & Roald Dahl books when I was 10 and totally loved them!!!
After I was 13, I moved on to Young Adult books and got into paranormal/supernatural genre thanks to L.J.Smiths's Night World Series and fell in love with the vampire genre thanks to Buffy the Vampire Slayer novels. (that was way before Twilight, which I don't find special)
My favourite genres include fantasy, romance and mystery.
Although my reading styles are changed over the years, my love for books have not, though it has been getting harder for me to find books that interest me nowadays, much less series that I really love. Which is probably why I decided to join this site, hahaXD And of course I still love YA books, eg, The Hunger Games, Infernal Devices Series & many many more<3<3
I bought a Kindle from Amazon last year and really loved it, though I still prefer the good old hard copy books which are easier to flip (which is the main trouble I have with my kindle and I have yet to figure out how go to my bookmarked pages, if it is even possible)
Hopefully, I'll be able to find like-minded friends here and discover more great books!! Can't wait!!XD(

I do also do book reviews on my blog. http://seraphblades.tumblr.com/
Feel free to add me as a friend, I love to talk about books. :)

That must be the shortest intro I've seen.
WELCOME!

When I was in school, no one talked about YA novels, but we read some great ones, such as Catcher in the Rye, Lord of the Flies, and A Wizard of Earthsea.
I started reading them again when my son began reading YA novels. In fact, when he was 12, I took Mockingjay away from him! I felt it was too violent for him, and told him he'd have to wait to read it.
Some of my favorites include Marcelo in the Real World, Feed, Unwind, Smack, and His Dark Materials trilogy.
I’m looking forward to participating in the group and to reading Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.

Sorry! I didn't know what to say. But well, I said J.K. Rowling's my favourite author so Harry Potter is my favourite saga, of course. I also like The Hunger Games, The Mortal Instruments, A Game of Thrones. And my favourite genre is young adult, but I enjoy others like fantasy and romance.
I'm from Uruguay, by the way. Spanish is my first language.

Haha! It's not for me, but I think it can confuse people that aren't used to writing it down!
