Oh holy snark! Rose made the book totally worth it. Still haven't read the rest, but I will soon.

Also, the movie will be out in February I think. I hope it's good!

Am reading book 3 now, and breezing through the series pretty fast. After the first book being so much like Half-Blood(Jennifer Armentrout), I was really relieved that it came into its own.-Lucky Jennifer didn't copy it completely, that is- *Just saw the preview for the movie and it looks cheezy...we shall see.*

I just started reading these books, and the first book was just okay to me I had a hard time connecting with the characters. However a friend convinced me to power through and keep going in the series. I am currently on the second book and LOVE it so far! I feel invested into the characters now and I am so happy about that! I have been debating for awhile now to start a book blog and I actually just got brave enough to post it, and I started with this book!! Every time I see the trailer for this movie on tv, I wince. It looks so bad!

yea I am scared that that the movie is going to come of cheesy.. but I have to see it because I loved this series and I'm used to being disappointed movies based on books :( I still wanna cry over my disappointment in mortal instruments

Haven't seen that one yet! I don't know if I can even bring myself to watch the movie just because I love that book series so much! Maybe when it comes out on pay per view but I'm certain I won't see it in the theater.

The MI movie is one of the reasons I don't want to watch the VA movie. The trailers look horrible even though I've heard good things

The movie is awesome. I've seen it twice and trust me, the trailers don't do it justice. The trailers are horrible but the movie is awesome. :)

yea the movie came off a little corny to me but I laughed alot, it wasnt horrible except for the fact that dimitri was ugly!

I totally understand that. I was hesitant to see the movie because of the trailers too but I saw it anyway and ended up loving it.

The books were all great and had very good twist and turns along the way. Although the age difference between Rose and Dimitri still creeps me out. . .

I think that the series has a lot of hype, and it is my opinion that the first book in the series does not live up to said hype. Now books two through six- that is another story altogether. But in response to just the first book, I was quite let down and put out. If I had not bought books one through three together I would not have ventured to read the rest of the series at all. So my advice is to stick with the series because the rest of it is completely and totally fantastic (THE FEELS).

I actually really enjoyed the first book. What about it didn't live up to the hype for you? Just wondering :)

This was the worst book i have ever read. Worst than twilight.

I read the first 3 books a long time ago in danish, but they never translated the rest, and the 4th ended with an extremly mean cliffhanger:( Then now that i read english, i've read them all, and they are so amazing!:)

I Love this book. I mean so many awesome things go on. I just finished it.

Rose is my all time favorite character. I watched the movie and read the book and absolutely adored both.

If you are afraid to read this because it's about vampires, don't worry. Mead does not make the vampire theme corny.

After so many years of ignoring this book, I finally found a copy at the library, checked it out, and was surprised by how not-bad it was.

Although I have to say I'm sad that my ship (Rose/Mason) probably isn't gonna sail off into the sunset like I hope it does.

I absolutely loved this series. It was amazing. It's one of the three books that made me want to write.

Brilliant series. I was enthralled from beginning to end.

I picked this up over the weekend. I hope it's good, considering it'll be a movie pretty soon.

I LOVED the Vampire Academy series, it is one of my favourites next to Harry Potter. I loved Rose as a heroine she was one smart, brave kick ass girl and she never failed to impress.

vampire academy is my favorite book series and still is. Rose you just love her right away then Bella from twilight just saying
