onmerryday Hello,

I don't know why I haven't introduced myself earlier. I guess I was too busy browsing all the discussions in this group :-)

Anyway, I'm pilarcat (a combination of Spanish name I got from Spanish class plus my own nickname, cat) I live in Bangkok, Thailand. My friend recommended goodreads to me months ago. I have some read books on my shelf but quite slow in adding more due to my habit of reading several books at the same time.

I really enjoy this group. I think people's talking all about books here really encourage me to read more and absolutely finish whatever I am reading now.

I have to say that a drawback of this group is that it keeps me coming back when I actually have to work! :-P

Isn't it awful how work and family committments interfere with reading and internetting... ; )

Welcome to the group!

message 13: by onmerryday (new)

onmerryday Thank you everyone :-)

You know what... It's my habit to make a small goal when I wake up everyday like I have to do this or that or at least I have to finish this project etc. Now I instinctively add 'I have to log into Goodreads and see what update they have' and it seems the day becomes more exciting. I like this feeling!

Anyway, Have a good read today everyone !

Robin (robinsullivan) | 997 comments Welcome - Pilarcat. I think once of the great things about the times we live in is that people from such far away places and differning cultures can come together in a forum such as this. What did we do before there was an Internt- I shudder in the remembering.

Welcome.

onmerryday Yeah! Robin. I feel very grateful that we have internet so that we can make friends cross countries. I think it helps to learn a lot more cause people in different places different background may have different thoughts and knowledge. :-)

Laura (apenandzen) Great words of wisdom Fiona, I've often wondered that myself - it's great to have no barriers!

Welcome Pilarcat, and that is a cool name.
