message 612: by D.C. (new)

D.C. Belton | 6 comments Just read "Hunger Games" and was amazed by the horribleness of the idea of having children murder other children. Its actually based on the myth about Theseus and the Minotaur. The Athenians lost a war, and had to sacrifice a dozen girls and boys to be eaten in the maze where the minotaur lived on the island of Crete. Wild how those old mythological themes keep popping up.
