Just because I'm curious - how many authors and readers are here on Goodreads? Is there a way to ascertain the current number of each?

The current count of author is 34,965 (we'll pass 35,000 later today). You can always find that number on this page:

http://www.goodreads.com/author/program

As for total members, we are over 7 million now, and growing rapidly. I'm not sure whether the specific member count is public anywhere on the site.
