Into the Wild question

I think Chris has more courage since Alex chose rock climbing because he liked and he isn't isolated intentionally from his family. Where as Chris chose to be isolated and drawn away from everyone he has ever known almost a trying to get the point actions he can make it on his own and he doesn't need anyone else gives him more courage.
