I know what you mean, it seems like everytime I pick up a book for a "quick" read in between sereis releases I get sucked into another series and find myself chomping at the bit for the next installment!

I've honestly never heard of it, but I understand your position, I hate getting caught up in a series and then waiting forever for the next installment! I think the longest I waited was about four years.

dang, that is quite a wait! seems like I- fortunately- usually come across a series after it's mostly or completely done, so I'm pretty sure that this is the longest I've waited. (side note- my mom had to wait 12 years for the 4th book of a series)
if you like historical fiction at all, I highly recommend the first of the trilogy, the fall of giants. it's about WWI (I learned soooo much). but his best is probably the pillars of the earth (set in medieval times)...
