Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I believe I told several of you that my ex's family came, took him to another city, and put him in Hospice. My family is coming here this week-end and we are driving there to see him before "the end". I might be able to post from my iTouch or another computer. However, what with all that is going on, I don't know how active - if at all - I'll be until next week. ✿Michelle✿ is away also; however, I'm sure CaroB, Heather, & Online Elf will keep all of you up-to-date on RLftCI information.

message 9: by Hayley (new)

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments Awh - I hope all is well now Lisa. I've been away for about two months from Goodreads, just recently came back at the end of April and saw this today!

message 10: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Thank you, Hayley. He passed away quietly in his sleep March 14th. He was my best friend for almost all of our 33 years together. I miss him every day.

message 11: by Hayley (new)

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments I'm so sorry to hear that Lisa. I hope you're doing okay these days. I know it's very hard sometimes dealing with that type of event. My thoughts/prayers go out to you to hope that you continue to be a strong woman and hope that you're okay!.

message 12: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Thank you, Hayley. I still get a little weepy at times; but, for the most part, I'm doing okay.

message 15: by Hayley (new)

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments I'm sure Lisa. I would too, definitely. I'm dealing with a tragic event myself right now. My best friend who is a young mother, 29, or two small children was just diagnosed with Leukemia last week :(. So they moved her to a really good hospital about 4 1/2 hours away. I hope they can cure it! She's on 24/7 chemo treatments for a week to see if it works.

message 16: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Oh, Hayley! I thought my ex was too young, but that is just way, way too young. It makes it even harder with two little ones and her being so far away, puts even more strain on the family.

message 17: by Hayley (new)

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments It does. I feel so bad for her. We always just thought she just had a weak immune system but it wasn't the case! She has acute myeloid leukemia. Which isn't very common in young adults, mainly for those over 50. So, I hope the chemo works otherwise, she will need a bone marrow transplant. She hasn't been able to see her little ones for over a week unfortunately they are with their father. Which, also is bad because they are going through a nasty custody battle so he's just being ruthless at this point. Ahh. But thanks for your thoughts and prayers! I hope it works out and she can kick cancer's butt :). In my eyes, everyone's too young to die, unless you're in your 90's :) But even then, it's always sad to see a loved one hurting or pass away

message 18: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Cheese and crackers, he can't roll it back, considering the situation? Now, I feel sorry really for the kids. What message does that send to them?

message 19: by Hayley (new)

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments Yeah - he literally hates her I suppose. I mean, even if I hated someone - I certainly wouldn't treat her the way he does when she's been given this horrific news. The poor kids are lost without their mommy too right now, they are 6 and 4 so they honestly don't understand what is going on :(. Luckily, my friend's Aunt is picking the kids up today and taking them to visit their mom in the hospital this weekend, which will brighten all of their spirits up I'm sure =)

message 20: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Will they be allowed to see her if she is on reverse isolation? Or isn't she at that stage?

message 21: by Hayley (new)

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments Had to look that one up :). Forgot you were in the medical field!. She was transferred to ICU two days ago because her BP was at 211/118 and apparently her pituitary gland was leaking? Not sure what they means. But it stopped and her BP went down so now she's on a regular floor. And anyone can come visit her as long as you aren't sick or running a fever. So they'll check her kids out before they are allowed in her room and make sure they are healthy enough to visit. When she walks around, she has to wear a mask so she doesn't catch germs too.

message 22: by Hayley (new)

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments She is at a wonderful hospital. They have a whole wing dedicated to cancer patients so that's why she was transferred there fortunately. They are taking good care :). She has to have her door shut @ all times to her room though and no one is allowed entry if they are running a fever for her sake.

message 23: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments That was pretty serious, Hayley; however, if she is out of ICU and her B/P is down into the normal range, hopefully, she's out of danger.

message 24: by Hayley (new)

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments I sure hope so! Her BP is back to normal now, thankfully. She's just having a rough time with the chemo. Fortunately it hasn't made her too awfully sick though. Just mainly really tired. She's on chemo treatment for 24/7 for a week and on Monday they'll take her off of it and run some tests to see if it worked. So I surely hope it does!

message 25: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I'll keep my fingers crossed.

message 26: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments Hayley I've been reading back, your poor friend! I'll keep her and her little ones in my thoughts.

message 28: by Hayley (new)

Lisa Kay - He will get his one day! Karma always comes back to get you!

Rachel the Book Harlot Lisa Kay, I am so very sorry for your loss. :(

Hayley, I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I can't believe her husband is behaving that way despite all that she is going through. She doesn't need the added stress. He's a monster. Ugh, just makes me so angry!

message 30: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Thanks for your kind words, Rachel.

Donna Lisa Kay, so sorry to hear of your recent loss. You were so fortunate to have such a special person in your life. I truly believe the ones who have left us are never really that far away.

Hayley, lots of positive thoughts and prayers for your friend and her little ones.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Thank you, Donna. Yes, I feel very lucky to have spent so much of my life with him.

message 33: by Hayley (new)

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments Thank you Rachel and Donna. Right now she's staying strong and positive and is doing okay for the time being. They are taking one day at a time and seeing where they can go and what treatment will be best for her. Thanks for the kind words!

message 34: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments Hi guys, My computer is about to get packed up, so this is my last post for a bit. We're moving house, which is always exciting, but add three kids, a dog and a 5 chickens into the mix and it's a madhouse, lol! Hopefully will be back online next Friday and look forward to seeing what books you've been reading and what you thought of them. Ciao!

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Enjoy the chaos, CaroB, and the new digs! Look forward to hearing about everything that's happened in a week! Keep track of that computer.

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) Good luck with the move CaroB!!! Will be looking for your return as it is always exciting to move and hearing about some of your mishaps which are sometimes funny (not so at the time) but upon reflection they are.

message 42: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments I'm baaaaaaaack!! Thanks so much for the good wishes everyone. Was hectic, but finally have the kitchen and bathrooms unpacked. Hubby set up the computer tonight so I figure the rest can be done at leisure :-)

message 43: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments YAY! If you're anything like me, you'll be unpacking boxes for the next year LOL

The girls and I have the car packed and we're off to Georgia to see Hubs and will be home Wednesday. My computer time will be limited to what I can do on my iPhone. I have my Kindle loaded with books, as well as having packed a couple paperbacks. Here's hoping I don't get too sunburnt while reading by the pool ;)

message 44: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Yay! CaroB is back! Great that you are getting settled.

Rachel the Book Harlot Welcome back, CaroB! I'm glad the move went well. :)

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) Welcome back CaroB!!!!It's good to see you and know that things are progressing for you ☺ I know how hectic moving can be and I hope your unpacking goes well. I don't know which is worse....packing or unpacking LOL Good Luck to ya!!

message 48: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments LOL Susan, a year!! That makes me feel better at my lack of progress. Must admit, I'm a teensy weensy bit jealous of your reading by the pool. I'm freezing my butt off here in Oz at the moment. The new place has tiles but we haven't got any rugs yet, BRRR! Hope you have a fab time away, relax and have fun!

Loved the graphic Lisa Kay, thank you. We've had a couple of hiccups with the internet, and some &$%# computer parts (the mouse that works properly!!!!) that seem to have gone missing in one of the mountainous boxes around the place. LOL, listen to me, only here a week and already complaining!!

Thank you Rachel!!

LOL Robin! I think I prefer unpacking. I'm a Virgo, and this house has enough storage that I'm actually enjoying finding a place for everything. *whispers*I've even gotten the labelmaker out and started labelling drawers and cupboards! Noooo, I'm turning into my mother, arrgh!(If you tell anyone I'll deny it!)
