My non-alien prequel reaction-

;->"
One of my favorite, off-quoted scenes in this movie, and there are many!!!
Haha, yeah the "not-an-Alien-prequel" angle is hard to maintain at this point. But it does look awesome - eagerly awaiting its release.

The birth of the David android.

"It's game over man. Game over!!!"
most quoted line from the glory that is Aliens. In my house at least.

The UK version of the trailer. Focuses a bit more on the archaeological mission.

"It's game over man. Game over!!!"

"Did IQs drop sharply while I was away?"
"Don't let him leave, Hicks."
"We're not going anywhere."
I could do this all day!
I liked the 'future' TED talk on the Weyland Industries site. Didn't take the time sign up to see the 'restricted' sections of the site, anyone done that yet?
As for Aliens quotes, yes, Bill Paxton wins. As well as the "game over" one I also always liked:
"Hey, maybe you haven't been keeping up on current events, but we just got our asses kicked, pal!"

Oh that is a great one. It is indeed. Now I am going to have to go rent Aliens...

"You heard the man and you know the drill. . . asshsoles and elbows! Hudson, come here, come HERE!"
"Look into my eye."
"Somebody wake up Hicks."
"A-Firmative."
And the el numero uno quote
"Hey Vasquez, have you ever been mistaken for a man?"
"No, have you?"

except for weirdly slimed sexy alien ladies walking around trying to mate with, and then kill a lot of humans. Or then again I am sure that was a movie in the '70's too...... ;)

Don't think that is what Promethius will be.
Read this excerpt from the wiki article on the alien creature. Also if you have the Alien bluray boxset a lot of what is quoted here is said in the commentary.
---------------------------
The script for the 1979 film Alien was initially drafted by Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett.[3] Dan O'Bannon drafted an opening in which the crew of a mining ship are sent to investigate a mysterious message on an alien planet. He eventually settled on the threat being an alien creature; however, he could not conceive of an interesting way for it to get onto the ship. Inspired after waking from a dream, Shusett said, "I have an idea: the monster screws one of them,"[3] planting its seed in his body, and then bursting out of his chest. Both realized the idea had never been done before, and it subsequently became the core of the film.[3] "This is a movie about alien interspecies rape," O'Bannon said on the documentary Alien Evolution, "That's scary because it hits all of our buttons."[4] O'Bannon felt that the symbolism of "homosexual oral rape" was an effective means of discomforting male viewers.[5]

For sure. That's what I was meaning to say. I desperately need a "sarc" mark on my keyboard.

Plot of Prometheus from my take of the trailer. Alien intelligence leaves clues behind on life sustaining worlds with promise of awesomeness on distant planet. Land on planet. Oops host bodies.
Obviously Alien came first, what I'm suggesting is this plot device seems a little too familiar. But again, that remains to be seen.
Finally a full Prometheus trailer for the upcoming Ridley Scott (non-alien prequel - yeh right) movie.
At least it isn't a sneak peek preview of the first look at the trailer.
