Thanks. I'm embarrased to say that even with your help I don't remember it. I may have to read it a third time. This is like the book Flowers for Algernon. Can't remember what it's about except that I didn't like it. It's one of those books I feel I should re-read because I probably didn't give it a fair chance. That's why I re-read A Wrinkle in Time and you see what happened with that one. Anyway, thanks for the quick summary.

I totally agree! What about the darkness?!?!?!? Does it go away? Is everyone doomed? No they don't tell us they just get home, have a happy family reunion and the end.

But then, I'm biased... I LOVE this book, it was one of the few books that got me into sci-fi and fantasy back when I was about 7 years old. My dad read this one out loud to us probably half a dozen times, and I could never wait, I always snuck the book off the shelf and read ahead... every single time... because I couldn't wait for the ending.

You were much too young for that story. It is intended for people between ages 10 and 12. If you are not close to that age, normally it would not be of any interest.
