Jody Well sadly, even though my last years resolution (which oddly started sometime in December) was to read as many books as possible within the year's time frame, I haven't read nearly as much as the rest of you. So far to-date I have only read 19 books, :( but for me I guess that's a lot. LOL. At least speaking for the last few years running.

As for the books I'd like to finish before January 1st of 2010 in no particular order...

1.) The Host, by Stephenie Meyer (Must read! 'Specially after I obtained a paperback copy ...)
2.) Windfalls, by Jean Hegland
3.) The Zookeeper's Wife, by Diane Ackerman
4.) Just Listen, by Sarah Dessen
5.) The Fall of the House of Usher and Other Tales, by Edgar Allan Poe
6.) The Gathering, by Anne Enright
7.) His Dark Materials Trilogy, by Philip Pullman
8.) The Tea Rose, by Jennifer Donnelly
9.) The Morning Gift, by Eva Ibbotson
10.) The Chronicles of Narnia, by C.S. Lewis
11.) The Luxe, by Anna Godbersen (Just to see if the others are worth it ...)
12.) Freshman Dorm, by Linda A. Cooney (Ahh, 80's college fiction ...)
13.) The Memory Keeper's Daughter, by Kim Edwards (I need it off the shelve ...)
14.) Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, by Lewis Carrol
15.) The Opposite of Music, by Janet Ruth Young
16.) Before, After, and Somebody In Between, by Jeannine Garsee

And the list of books I need to read so I can throw them out or give them away ... they're mostly teen fiction that I'm not interested in anymore, but refuse to leave untouched.

Double Helix, by Nancy Werlin
Wicked: Witch & Curse, by Nancy Holder
Wicked 2: Legacy and Spellbound, by Nancy Holder
The China Garden, by Liz Berry
A Deadly Game of Magic, by Joan Lowery Nixon

NOTE:
Please feel free to comment! :D

Heather (pinkprincessmommy) | 26 comments I have read The Memory Keeper's Daughter and thoroughly enjoyed it. Some parts made me mad but overall it is a worthwhile read.

I also plan on reading Just Listen and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Looking forward to seeing what you think of them.

Good luck and don't put too much pressure on yourself. Reading should be fun and non-stressful.

Jody I was looking forward to reading "The Memory Keepers Daughter" until I saw the movie. :( That usually kills things for me. Like with "P.S, I Love You" ...

Heather (pinkprincessmommy) | 26 comments I watched the movie as well and was extremely disappointed. I thought it was butchered beyond belief. I am also happy to hear you felt the same about P.S. I Love You. I really enjoyed the book and flew through it. I was so excited to see the movie and I left the movies angry. I usually dislike movies and am like "oh, well", this time I was mad and disgusted that they ruined everything that was good about the book.

Jody Sadly, I saw "P.S, I Love You" the movie first. :( So any love I might of had for the book was squashed. The two were nothing alike, and that really saddened me. I mean what was the point? They literally changed everything from the location, to her job and and "friend" character of the husband didn't even exist in the book ... WTF? *pouts* The book took me a month to finish because I was so disappointed between the two. Honestly the book was good, but one really didn't have anything to do with the other, besides main plot.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to January 1st, so I can start some new reads! :D Just trying to get through this last book ...

Heather (pinkprincessmommy) | 26 comments That is too bad about P.S. I Love You in book form as it was god. However, I can understand that when it happens there is not much you can do. Hopefully 2009, brings some good reads. I know my list is HUGE!!

Happy reading!
