The Next Best Book Club discussion

There is a movie coming out in limited release (I am assuming to make it eligible for the oscars)starring Kate Winslet. It's based on the book, The Reader. I was wondering if anyone has heard of it or anything about it. I can't seem to find it on goodreads.

I just saw a blurb about that in some magazine at work. I'm excited about it... The book was phenomenal, I couldn't put it down.

Hey, I was the one who started that thread so Sarah I hope you will post your thoughts on the book on that. I've seen the trailer and I'm eager to watch the film but looks like here in our country it may be shown next year.

Thanks everyone, I guess I jsut didn't look hard enough! Silly me. I will definitely let you know what I think about the book. just not sure when i will get to it.

I just saw the movie (I read the book over the holidays). The movie is good, but it's limited as it does not get into the protagonist's head like the book does. Kate Winslet and David Kross as the young Michael Berg give outstanding performances. The movie is pretty true to the book, the only changes were to keep pacing with a 2 hour movie format. My advice, read the book first, and then go enjoy a couple of outstanding performances.
