Katy (goodreadscomkaty_jane) | 1 comments I'm reading the Southern Vampire Series (Sookie Stackhouse). Its so much better than the silly Twilight series. I'm really excited to watch True Blood after I'm finished with the books!

message 52: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rachelwp) | 1 comments I'm reading "The King's Daughter" by Sandra Worth which is very fun. Next, I'm reading "Outlander" which I always meant to read but never did!

Jacqueline Coleman (jacqden04) | 8 comments I am reading Kiss Me Deadly. It is funny. It was a freeby.

message 54: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (morningmuse) | 5 comments I'm reading Baby Proof by Emily Griffin because it seemed funny and applicable to my 7 year, intentional, childless marriage... so far, so good... (to both the marriage and the book)

message 55: by Elena (last edited Jul 28, 2009 12:07PM) (new)

Elena I am reading Destined for an Early Grave. It was released today. I had pre-ordered it and it was wonderful to wake up this morning, and it was already there!

I am also reading Dragonfly in Amber here and there. Too long and slow to read it all at once

message 56: by Jeanie (new)

Jeanie | 12 comments I'm reading The Given Day by Dennis Lehane. A departure from his usual mysteries, but a very interesting historical novel. Next up is The Girl Who Played with Fire - can't wait to get into it. I loved The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo!

message 57: by Debbie (new)

Debbie Just finished The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton

message 58: by stormhawk (new)

stormhawk | 542 comments The Last Witchfinder A Novel

I'd forgotten about James Morrow. He's quite cleverly funny. I would love there to be a Kindle edition of his now out of print Continent of Lies

Cookiesue9x (cookiesue) | 6 comments I'm reading sample after (free) sample....kind've driving myself nuts with them, I want them all . Just read sample of "Sing Them Home" and "Incendiary", want them both.

Awesomevegan (AKA JenReads) (awesomevegan) | 109 comments I am reading this series right now:
Hawksong (The Kiesha'ra, #1) by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes

I am on the first book. There are 5 and I bought them as a bundle on Kindle. :) Good so far. I am not far into it. It is connected to the previous series: In the Forests of the Night (Den of Shadows, #1) by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes (that's book 1 of Den of Shadows)

Between the 2 series are vamps and various shifters.

message 66: by Joel (new)

Joel (joelarnold) | 31 comments I just finished Ruth Francisco's Hungry Moon and loved it. Great writing. Not sure what to read next, but I have about a dozen books waiting for me!

Joel Arnold

Alanna | 25 comments I just finished The Girl Who Played with Fire and would highly recommend it. I liked it even better than the first book in the trilogy and I loved that book.

Aaron (scruffynerfer) Louise wrote: "I am a very slow reader and even with my light and nimble Kindle, I'm lucky to get through a book in one week. I'm just wondering, Gina, how you and others handle three or more at a time with "To-R..."

I am a slow reader to, but with me i'm lucky to get through a book in a couple of weeks. This is just down to time but I try to read as much as I can.

Right now I am reading 2 books (One Kindle book and they other is a paperback) I also have an audiobook I have started. This is the first time I have had more than one book one the go and it's not the best for me. I think i'll go back to a book at a time so I can concentrate more on the stories and hopefully be more immersed in them

Aaron (scruffynerfer) Candy wrote: "I am glad to find some more slow readers! I was beginning to think it was just me who took a couple weeks per book. I stay busy but I hear people who are busier than I am say they read three and fo..."

Lol, I knew I wasn't the fastest reader in the world but when I joined good reads I was amassed at how fast other people can read. Hopefully I'll learn to pick up my speed but at least going slower will mean that I don't have to keep buying books every few days.

message 70: by Chris (new)

Chris | 1 comments I just finished John Verdon's Think Of A Number, which I would reccomend for a summer detective thriller. You won't be dissapointed in Mr. Verdon's first venture into the mystery novel genre.

Currently, I am reading Ben Sherwood's The Survivors Club: The Secrets and Science that Could Save Your Life. This book is beyond the study of fight or flight and is at the very least a very interesting read, as well as a chance for an introspective look at how you would react if your life were on the line.

message 71: by stormhawk (new)

stormhawk | 542 comments Doctor Who: Nuclear Time - Olli Smith

It's so completely, bloody, awful that if it weren't for my love of The Doctor, it would be on my "so bad I couldn't finish" shelf.

message 72: by Jenna (new)

Jenna Scribbles Candy - I'm a slow reader too. It takes me two or three weeks to get through a book. But I am also antsy and easily distracted. So maybe the act of reading isn't the real problem. Ha ha

I'm currently reading:

33 A.D.
33 A.D. by David McAfee

message 73: by stormhawk (new)

stormhawk | 542 comments Waxwork - Peter Lovesey

a Sergeant Cribb mystery

message 74: by Kim (new)

Kim (kimster82) | 1 comments Wicked by Sara Shepard.

Those books score pretty high on my guilty pleasures list.

message 75: by Chester (new)

Chester | 29 comments Jenna and Candy, that makes three of us. My problem is I can't find time to read except in waiting rooms and in the car while waiting for someone to return. Once in a while I'll decide to heck with it, sit down and read for an hour of so. Doesn't happen too often, though. If I read one in three weeks, I'm doing good.

message 76: by C.a. (new)

C.a. Freeburn | 14 comments Currently, I'm reading When Christians Get it Wrong by Adam Hamilton.
