have you guys ever got a book from an author and you skim through it an decide you are not interested in reading it? But the author really wants a review from you, what do you do in this situation? Thanks!

Speaking as an author, but not an inexperienced one: If you didn't request the book, you're under no obligation to do anything with it. If the author gets pushy about a review, and if you have the time, give it an honest one, even if it's unflattering; maybe that'll cure the author of giving books out willy-nilly. If you did request the book and then had second thoughts, you're sorta obligated to review it if the author insists...but let him/her know that you're not really hot to do it and ask if they still want you to go ahead. Maybe they'll stop being so pushy if there's the possibility of a negative review. But above all, be honest with the author. Don't worry about hurting his/her feelings. If the author's feelings are that easily crushed, they have no business being an author in the first place, and the sooner their hopes are dashed, the better for all concerned. Survival of the fittest, and all that.

Do you guys know of any careers I can go for that are related to books? I've been trying to look up careers so I can take classes for them but haven't had any luck :/


It could be reading and reviewing(if there is a job doing that), writing synopsis, editing, book covers....idk, let me know what you think!

I've been considering going back to school and starting a new career once all my kids are in school (2 more years). I think I'm going to pursue a degree in English Literature, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. Good luck!

Saw Tahereh Mafi, writer of 'Shatter Me' and Vanessa Rossi, writer of 'Under The Never Sky.' The Q&A was FANTASTIC!!! The audience had plenty of questions and they both answered them wonderfully. They both seemed like very good friends their chemistry was amazing which rub off on the readers that came out just to see them and it just felt like we were all friends sitting around talking about books!

I cannot wait till the second installment of 'Shatter Me' comes out! We got to get a little scoop on what we can expect in the second book. We'll be seeing more of Warner of curse and possibly get to know him by a first name basis and also that he is a secret fashionista? Weird, I know but I still can't wait to read about it. We will most definately see more of Juliette's sub-conscious which includes the STRIKE OUTS BTW my FAVORITE parts of the book because we get to see a part of Juliette that only the readers can see/know about that even the characters in the book don't know about(how awesome!) and we will also see a more confident and more sure of herself Juliette. I'm anxious to see what happens!

I had a blog once upon a time and can see and appreciate all the work you put into yours. And I entered the raffle and will keep my fingers crossed... When will you announce the winners?

It ends in a month I believe July 20th maybe I have to check lol. I do put a lot of work and time into it, I do want a professional to design my whole page but that's when I can save up money to do so but that will be awhile since all my money goes to books :)

I got to meet Lauren Kate today! The vibe was different at this Q&A it was chill like we were all friends just chatting about her book which was really nice! Lauren seemed a little nervous in the beginning but she relaxed when we started asking questions :)

She was very pretty and tall like a model, very sweet and had a small voice when she spoke regularly but when she read an excerpt from her book she had so much confidence and her voice grew louder in which you could tell that her true voice was in her books(if you get what I mean) :)

I jotted down some notes for all you Fallen fans(will post on blog later), I didn't get to ask any questions because I haven't read this series yet but Tt has so I just wrote down questions that others asked :/
