Goodreads Authors/Readers discussion

Hi folks.

I've just noticed that the Kobo ebook store displays Goodreads reviews on the book page - only in my case it doesn't (admittedly I only have one review). Does anyone know if this is supposed to happen automatically, or does a link have to be set up via Goodreads and/or the Kobo store? Or this just a temporary glitch and it'll all start working again after I've had a lie down and a nice cup of tea?

Hi. I noticed this too. I have no idea, but my (3) reviews don't show either. At least you know it's not just you and I know it's not just me. Maybe other people know more.

My reviews don't show up either. I sent a question about this to Bookbaby, the folks that upload my books, but I haven't heard back yet. They're usually diligent at getting answers. If I hear from them, I'll post here.

I just checked and the two Goodreads reviews for my novel "Pool of Souls" do show up on the Kobo ebook store. I didn't do anything to get them there, so it must be an automatic thing.

Guys, with me, it was a problem with my ISBN that didn't match up. Don't ask me why, I'm embarrassed (and confused. I'm a writer, not... whatever else I have to be). As soon as I had fixed my ISBN on Goodreads, Kobo grabbed the reviews. Maybe, check yours out?

Kobo answered my email that it works by ISBN. That sent me to spot the problem so I didn't pursue with them.

Thanks for the advice! My book had the Amazon ASIN showing instead of the Smashwords ISBN, so that could well be it...!

EDIT: Just checked it after updating the Goodreads book page and the Kobo Store is now showing the review. Result!

Four of my reviews are listed there for my historical novel BETRAYAL. But,I have 6 reviews and 7 ratings here on Goodreads. Is there a way I can contact Kobo and get these reviews listed????

Hey all! I have a very easy solution and you don't even have to contact Kobo to do it. Just grab the ISBN from the Kobo listing for your book, then create your book here at Goodreads with that ISBN. Once you have it merged with the other copies here, it will automatically update on Kobo. Here is a tutorial I found that shows how to do it :) http://www.ericedstrom.com/2012/08/01...

Does anyone know how long this takes to pull through? I created a second edition of my book with the correct ISBN number a few days ago and merged it with the ASIN version, but I still have no reviews showing on Kobo.

Erica, a new review for my novel Paradise Squandered was posted on Goodreads yesterday, and it is showing on Kobo today. I just checked Kobo, so I don't know exactly how long it took in this case, but it definitely took less than 24 hours for the review to show up there.
