Kiwidude | 6 comments The series order shown in Goodreads has Sassinak as #2 and The Death of Sleep as #1.

However that is the wrong way around. See Wikipedia here:

Kiwidude | 6 comments Ok, someone may feel like slapping me about over this (or alternatively just ignoring me!) but having now read the first two books and done some research on *other* websites than Wikipedia, my conclusion is that actually Goodreads had the order correct as it was (with Sassinak as #2).

From a "published" order viewpoint, Sassinak was released a few months before The Death of Sleep, as documented on Wikipedia. But if you read the books in that "published" order, they don't make a lot of sense. The books are a bit of a mess anyways, but Sassinak most definately spends the last quarter describing and documenting events that take place after The Death of Sleep, and minimally describes characters/events that only make sense if you read the other way around.

Sorry to muck people about - the published order date threw me, as normally that is the order I will always read a series in rather than any chronological reordering that people come up with. However multiple other websites and Amazon reviews I have seen all point to a suggested order of reading The Death of Sleep first.

My humble apologies for wasting people's time with this.
