Welcome, Alan!!!

Looking at my initial post I realise I didn't really tell you too much about myself. I am a software developer from the south of England and am married with twin 5-year-old daughters. I started writing my first book in 2010 and self-published on Amazon a year later. It took such a long time because I work full time and usually only get to write if I'm up at 4AM to get a few hundred words in before it's time to go to the office. I'm still on that routine now, but hopefully I will be able to scrape a living as a writer after I've got 6 or 7 books under my belt.
All the best,
Alan

As you suggested, it is really hard to write when you work full time and come home to a family, especially when the 5-year-old twins want some Daddy time. That's why I have to get up at 4ish to get anything done. Most of the time I just make notes and type them up when the girls are in bed.
The reason I do it is for them: I won't be around for ever, and I want to leave something for them, something that can make their lives a little more comfortable. Me, I'm happy with a couple of beers and my Twitter friends, so I don't need any creature comforts (except maybe a new laptop every couple of years).
I guess everyone writes for a reason, and for me it's my daughters, so roll on GJ3 :-)

my name is Alan and I am the author of Gray Justice and the sequel Gray Resurrection. Gray Justice was published in July 2011 and this action/thriller has been quite well received so far. Most of the readers were particularly impressed with the twist at the end - none of them saw it coming!
When a son is killed by a career criminal who spends just a few months in jail for his crime, the father can either accept the decision of the court, or make his voice heard: When it happens to Tom Gray he chooses the latter and takes retribution to a whole new level.
You might think this is just another tale of revenge but that couldn't be further from the truth. The protagonist feels that not only is the killer responsible, but the justice system itself should have done more to prevent his one-man crimewave.
I could tell you more about this book but you'll be able to make up your own mind a lot easier if you download the free sample from Amazon US or Amazon UK. All the reviews, both on Amazon and here on Goodreads, are from genuine readers.
I hope you find them both entertaining!
Alan
