Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy discussion

Hi everyone

I'm new to posting, but have been reading your posts and love them. I'd really appreciate it if you could give me suggestions for great series books. Im up to date with Chicagoland, Sookie, VA & Bloodlines but other than that I'm open! I love reading and I'm not fussy :-)

You've picked the pick of the bunch as far as I'm concerned. There are only three in the series, but dont forget to intersperse the Alpha and Omega series with the Mercy Thompson.
Then, if you've enjoyed them, you might like to read Kelley Armstrong's series.

You know, I actually didn't know that, I feel stupid for that not occurring to me sooner. Completely makes sense though.

But does the BDB not take place in a city? But they call them paranormal... Sorry...I find it confusing...

Have you read Kelley Armstrong's tales of the otherworld? It's the best series I've come accross so far.

I find it really stupid of me that I don't even know what category the books I read fall under...

I think they overlap. If it contains paranormal and has romance in it, then it would be paranormal romance but if it takes place in a city then both descriptions fit. And I have heard more explanations of this than I can count but "urban" does mean urban. LOL

That's what I thought... most of my books are set in cities , but has paranormal romance... It really messes up the head sometimes lol... It really makes it hard to distinguish between the two ..

I think pnr is more erotic than uf

PNR has one couple per book with an HEA (a happily ever after) at the end of that book. There might be other characters featured in the book, but the distinguishing factor is one couple, one HEA per book. In UF the same character/couple is featured over many books. The couple might/might not get their HEA at the end of the series.

I have heard other people distinguish them that way before as well. It does make sense. I mean normally when you think of any kind of romance you think of a HEA with the ending.

But if there are half a dozen or more books in the series you wouldn't know what to call it until it is over and you know if it has a HEA. LOL
