D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Just finished reading G.L. Breedon's "The Wizard of Time". I'm a fussy reader, but I found this book highly engaging from start to finish. Well written, clever premise, interesting characters, even educational!

It mixes magic fantasy with time travel (if you couldn't guess from the title!). The main character is a thirteen-year-old boy, but the book would be liked by adults too.

If you enjoy this genre, then you'll be sure to love this warm and exciting story! A full 5 stars from me!

Going by your reccie and the blurb, I'm grabbing it. Thanks, DM!

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Oh, edited. Is the store purely in .co.uk?

No problem, Patti. I think everyone will like it!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Yeah, only through the UK as the taxes n whatnot are too big a hassle with .com.

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Yeah, tell me about it. I spent £15 on a phone call to the IRS in the US to see about them giving me *my* money...

message 26: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments With all my kindle drama I still haven't got round to reading it yet. Serpent in the glass is also ahead of this in my TBR list so it may be a while before I get to it

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Yes, owning a Kindle must present certain difficulties when you're a mermaid...

;)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments All that water... oh, I've said too much!

message 29: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Teehee :o)

I try now to only read it on a rock in the sun...

Anyway I came here to say I am 40% through and loving it! Ignite you should find the time to read it :o)

message 30: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments It's near the top of my TBR - as are about 3 others and every time some daft beggar comes on Our Authors and says 'I've wriiten this book,' I get another added. Perhaps if I clear off now and read a bit more they'll all creep up closer. I really begrudge the time I spent reading the last book (which fortunately wasn't too long). It was a real bummer. Can you say bummer here? Bummer bummer bummer.

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Bummer

I shall avoid that last book you read...

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Just finished this The Wizard of Time I loved it! It was so good.

Is it an Indie author? I couldn't decide while reading it if it was or not. I hope there are more because it really was that good, I've not done anything else all evening just so I could finish it

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Phew ;)

Yes, it is good, isn't it? He's an indie. Find out more at http://kosmosaicbooks.com

Now I know what you like ;)

message 34: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I'm disappointed he doesn't have any other books in the series yet.

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments If only writing was as quick as reading ;)

message 36: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Well we'd be inundated!

message 37: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I took up your recommendation DM, and I wasn't disappointed! It put me in mind for a while of Ursula Le Guin but it's faster paced and really very thought provoking. I loved that the lad Gabriel realises that he is being used not only by the 'bad' side but by the Grace Mages too. It makes you wonder if there is any true altruism.
Maybe I've over-analysed it? I did love it though and I've mentioned it on the Amazon MOA forum as well as reviewing it.

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Glad you liked it. It was well written and thought out. I would not have promoted it as much as I did had that not been the case!
