Rod Horncastle I was just reading a bunch of reviews of Choo Thomas's masterpiece. ("cough, cough")

This book is called Heaven is so Real. I just read books by Mary K. Baxter and Bill Wiese. I'm also going to read Todd Burpo's contribution. IT seems everyone and their cousins are taking Journey's to the afterlife lately. God sure is trendy isn't he. Their god is anyway.

I remember thinking it would be fun to get all these folks together to compare stories. And guess what? Apparently some of them are. And going on tour to cross promote their experiences of course. You get 2 or 3 hellish accounts for the price of one. What a world we live in eh?

Anyway, So is this really what God is up to? Apparently God just realized the Bible wasn't scary enough - or that Heaven wasn't properly promoted in all its luxurious fashion...so he better find some modern day prophets to keep the truth rolling along clearly.
And this is almost okay.

Except we already have a Bible. Full of accounts of Heaven and Hell from reliable Prophets. And one of my favourite verses in the whole scriptures:

Luke 16:29 But Abraham said, "they have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them."

The guy in Hell was denied the same request that Choo, Baxter and Weiss claim to have been called to deliver. Strange eh?

Yes, I do not put too much stock in these either.

However, I also think that Satan tries to counterfeit everything Godly. I believe he was called the angel of light. Which makes me think. Who is better served by these accounts & books being written? Wouldn't it be smart of Satan to convince people to follow an idea or action if it kept peoples focus on something other than Hell? Didn't he trick Eve in the garden with a bunch of half truths?

I'll take Bible over book account any day!!
