Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
question
Did anyone find it odd when they were reading the third book that Sirius Black-a run away prisoner from askaban- was his god father??

In the beginning I found odd and a little weird. But Sirius is a good person who was just framed when he was sent to Askaban. I love his character and found it very sad when he died. But in the beginning when they first introduced us to him, it was just.... weird. What do you guys think?
lol, it was supposed to be shocking. But knowing the whole story it's very fitting. He was the closest thing to family that Harry had. I don't count the Dursleys because they could care less about him.
not really... I found it exciting and puzzling but not strange because there was some sort of reason and mystery... and you find out the truth later anyway, so it was all a mistake anyway.
And I think it was a really good element to add to the story.

No, not at all! It was very exciting. And anyway, he wasn't a murderer, he was innocent. Hp is my favourite series, so every little thing is amazing to me :D
But at the beginning, yes, it was a shock. But it was an interesting mystery to unravell at the end.
Well the purpose of it was to be surprised by it because all along you are supposed to think that he is a really bad wizard. It was a great and unexpected twist though.

I thought it was great.
It really seems like he's bad for a while.
I think the part that was a bit strange was why he wanted to go back and 'kill Harry'...that got me thinking.

Well, I think everyone found it odd at first, it was a plot twist. But if you kept reading the series than it all comes together.
I found Sirius's sudden shift from lunacy to lucidity strange. He was deliberately portrayed as a madman, and, too soon after he was revealed to be Harry's ally, he became so sane that I just couldn't believe my eyes.
But this doesn't have much to do with the actual topic of the thread. To answer that question, no. I shockingly didn't find that little revelation odd.

I liked it a lot. I know the movie cut this scene short, but it's my favourite: Harry hears Sirius and Remus talking and thinks they're about to fight but then it turns out that they're actually friends.
I found that one very good as it suddenly turned the plot around.

i thought it was totally random at first but then i put the puzzle pieces together and it totally made sense
