Being a book-a-holic and not yet having found a hobby that surpasses reading, I develop quite an attachment to certain characters. Some books I just can't connect with the characters, particularly the main ones, so I think it's important when you do.

It may be hard and I'm not saying all time favourite character from every book, but pick 1 or 10 of your favourite characters from books you've read. Name the book/series, author and why. And only one character per book!

Enjoy!

Here are mine for the moment.

1st. Eve Dallas from the in death series by J.D. Robb or Nora Roberts. The first one is Naked in Death. I adore Eve's character because she's the fiesty heroine that has had a troubled past and managed to overcome it. She's not perfect and she's not always ethical, but she's has strong morals she sticks to. She has a sarcastic personality that's a shell to hide that she cares for people. I've read 14 of the 'In Death' series and bonded with Eve from the first moment!

2nd. Hermione Granger from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. I can't help it. Harry Potter is the series I grew up reading and I just formed an attachment with her. It's probably because at the age of 10 I wanted to be her, but I still really love her character as the brainy, work-a-holic who stands by her friends through an awful lot of horrifying events.

3rd. Peeta from Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. By the end of the Hunger Games the battles he faced made me want to weep! Throughout the first book his character grew on me and by the last one I was enamoured with him. He was honest and his love for Katniss was just too cute.

Samantha Reath | 6 comments So I have three male and one female characters that come to my mind as favorites but it is hard to choose.
1) Bardon (it is assumed his last name is Kye but never said) from Donita K. Paul teen series Dragonspell series. He really was my first favorite because he was just so obnoxiousness and annoying I had to love him.
2)Captain Edmund Merrick in MaryLu Tyndall Legacy of the Kings Pirates. A) he is a pirate, and B) he is a pirate. Nuf' said. Otherwise, he is the super cool guy character that has to save the girl character everytime.
3)Lord Marcello Forelli in the Rivers of Time Series by Lisa Tawn Bergren. Super awesome Italian prince honest loyal chivalrous and can use a sword. Twelve word description.

Beza (bezag) | 31 comments I adored Ismae from Grave Mercy she was such a kick-ass character! A lot of the books I read tend to have very weak female leads that depend on the male lead for everything, Isme was a nice change from that.

Favorite characters are always so hard to choose for me. That's because I seem to have a new favorite every other month, lol.

My current favorite is Locke Lamora. The quick witted, smart talking con man, and thief extraordinaire from Scott Lynch's The Lies of Locke Lamora.

Matt Hageman I am in 100% agreement with Gavin. Locke Lamora is an amazing character! For those of you who haven't read the book, I personally suggest doing so.
