Lev Grossman just posted a note on his Goodreads page about why he doesn't dislike England anymore. That's quite interesting as he talks aout standing in the room where Tolkien was master as well as finding out what the first man to run a four minute mile is doing these days.

But he also dug up some of the earliest notes for The Magicians and posts a snippet. Fascinating look into the author's mind.
