R. Thomas Richard | 33 comments I've heard it too many times! "I didn't 'find Jesus' until I left the Catholic Church and then I found Him in the Bible." Jesus is very present to us in the Holy Mass, if the other person is also "very present" to Him. Jesus is substantially Present to every person at the Mass, because of the Holy Eucharist! But who there is personally present to Him, in the Mass?

It is true that some non-Catholic (evangelical) worship services really reach out and grab people, emotionally. For some Catholics, the Mass seems to be something to be endured because we're "supposed" to be there. But to really find what is worthwhile in life, one has to want to find it - and take the personal responsibility to ask, to seek for it.

"For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." The Mass is so very rich, for those who can ask and seek and knock therein! This is the "Source and Summit" of the Christian life!

So this book is an offering that I hope can help the reader become present to Jesus in the three movements of the Mass - and therefore meet Him there. And therefore become able, by His grace, to remain with Him all days.

MariaChristi | 4 comments Dear Dr. Richard,

I have read your book on the Mass and have recommended it to several friends. One of them has just begun to read it and told me that he was particularly impressed with your help on "Preparing" for Holy Mass. He told me that even though he has just begun the book, he knows he will be more reverent, participating in Mass.

The "movements" of the Mass as you describe them was a blessing to me. Thanks so much for writing this much needed book to help all of us better understand and participate in every Holy Mass! I pray that many will read and most importantly begin to live the Truth they find.
