☻Nikki☻ (nikkic1998) | 480 comments List 5 audiobooks from your own TBR list and the next poster chooses one of them for you to listen to. That poster then posts 5 books he/she wants to listen to and so on..

I thought this sounded fun so thought we could try it out. :D

**Sometimes there are lulls and you may post but nobody responds. If I see it, I'll go ahead & choose a book for you. The next person that wants to join in can then post their 5 book choices & won't have to worry about choosing one for someone else**

Jennifer C This is a great way to help pick the next Audio Book.

I will have to look at my list of books I have on Audio and see if I even have 5 at home right now. :) I will work on this later today or tonight.

message 4: by ☻Nikki☻ (new)

☻Nikki☻ (nikkic1998) | 480 comments That's what I thought too Jennifer. I'm hoping to be able to sneak another audio in before the end of the month. Not sure if I will or not since there's only a week left & I'm not done with 11/22/63

Nikki - for you, I pick "Third Grave Dead Ahead." LOVED that one, and Lorelei King does a masterful job with the narration. Enjoy!

☻Nikki☻ (nikkic1998) | 480 comments Ok Gavin...I'm picking Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer for you. Make sure you let me know if it's any good (since I'm waiting to read it as well).

I'm not posting 5 for myself since someone just chose for me. I hope someone else posts 5 more soon.

message 8: by Jennifer C (new)

Jennifer C lol, I don't even have 5 audio books to post. :) When I do I will definitely check in here as this is an awesome to choose your next read when you are completely unsure.

message 9: by ☻Nikki☻ (new)

☻Nikki☻ (nikkic1998) | 480 comments I should finish with the one I'm listening to either today or definitely tomorrow. What should I listen to next??

Gavin | 64 comments Nikki, I'll return the favor and pick
Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer
Cinder by Marissa Meyer

I loved this!.

I'd post five of my own but after I finish Fantasy Lover (Dark-Hunter, #0) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

I'm going to read Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth

message 11: by ☻Nikki☻ (new)

☻Nikki☻ (nikkic1998) | 480 comments Thanks for choosing for me Gavin! I'm excited to listen to this one. I think I'll like it as well. I read the short story that tells how Cinder ended up in this family. I thought it was interesting so this should be a good pick for me.

Are you going to do the audio of Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth ? I read it & really enjoyed it. I thought about getting it on audio but since I already have it & the second book in kindle form I changed my mind. Hope you like it as well.

message 12: by Gavin (new)

Gavin | 64 comments Yes, I'm listening to the audiobook of Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth

Ahhh, yes I remember following a link that lead to the Cinder short story. I had meant to read it before listening to Cinder but completely forgot about it. What an idiot!!.

message 13: by Gavin (new)

Gavin | 64 comments I should finish my current audiobook The Paid Companion by Amanda Quick in the next couple of days.

So what should I listen to next?.

Crave (The Fallen Angels, #2) by J.R. Ward Monster Hunter International (MHI, #1) by Larry Correia The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi The Tar-Aiym Krang (Pip & Flinx Adventures, #1) by Alan Dean Foster Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill

message 14: by ☻Nikki☻ (new)

☻Nikki☻ (nikkic1998) | 480 comments I love the Chicagoland Vampire Series. I haven't listened to the audiobook though so don't know if the narrator is any good. Anyway, I'm choosing Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill for you. :)

message 15: by Gavin (new)

Gavin | 64 comments Thanks Nikki. I listened to the first fifteen minutes when I bought it and the narrator seemed OK.

It's funny it only made it to the list because I forgot to add Zombie Fallout by Mark Tufo .

message 16: by ☻Nikki☻ (new)

☻Nikki☻ (nikkic1998) | 480 comments The only books/authors I recognized were Crave (The Fallen Angels, #2) by J.R. Ward & Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill . I debated between the two but decided on the Chicagoland book. Hope you enjoy it.

message 17: by Poonam (new)

Poonam | 35 comments Okay. I guess I don't have anyone to pick from?

Cleopatra's Moon by Vicky Alvear Shecter Antony and Cleopatra by William Shakespeare A Princess of Mars (Barsoom, #1) by Edgar Rice Burroughs The Chicago Way by Michael Harvey The Man in the Iron Mask by Alexandre Dumas

What do you all think?

message 18: by Gavin (new)

Gavin | 64 comments I have all five of those audiobooks and have yet to listen to any of them. I think I got all of them free except The Man in the Iron Mask.

I say go with Antony and Cleopatra by William Shakespeare the BBC are usually quite good with their adaption's.

I'm most likely to listen to A Princess of Mars (Barsoom, #1) by Edgar Rice Burroughs first. It will go well with my recent ploy of listening to the audiobook and then watching a film adaption.

message 19: by Poonam (new)

Poonam | 35 comments Antony and Cleopatra it is! Thanks!!!

message 20: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Here's mine!

Rachel...I think you've been skipped over haven't you :( Robert should have chosen your book but I don't see where he did.

Since he didn't I'll choose for you - The winner is.... 'Salem's Lot by Stephen King

I'm going to leave Shirley's books free for the next person to choose. I hope it doesn't confuse anyone since I posted this after Shirley's book choices. If they miss your post Shirley...I'll check back in & choose for you as well :)

message 25: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Shirley, I choose Dark Of The Moon (Virgil Flowers, #1) by John Sandford for you! Thank you Nikki for choosing mine :)

Thanks for choosing ... bumping up on TBR list.

Poonam | 35 comments Okay, I'm back.

The Chicago Way by Michael Harvey Locomotion by Jacqueline Woodson The End of the Affair by Graham Greene The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (Oz, #1) by L. Frank Baum Pinned by Alfred C. Martino

What do we think?

message 28: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn | 40 comments How was Antony and Cleopatra by William Shakespeare ?

message 29: by Poonam (new)

Poonam | 35 comments It was difficult to follow. I've never read it before, so the different characters were not easy to follow. Also they spoke very quickly and so I had a hard time following the words.

Kathryn | 40 comments Poonam wrote: "It was difficult to follow. I've never read it before, so the different characters were not easy to follow. Also they spoke very quickly and so I had a hard time following the words."

That's too bad. :( Hopefully your picker will choose something exciting for you this time. I'd do it, but I haven't read mine yet, so I'm not ready to take another turn.

message 31: by Jennifer C (new)

Jennifer C I will pick for you Poonam. :)

Listen to Wizard of Oz with me. :)

Sweet! Thanks!

message 33: by Trutze (new)

Trutze | 4 comments that's fun,
I am soon finished with The High Lord (The Black Magician Trilogy, #3) by Trudi Canavan
I was wanting to read The Book Thief by Markus Zusak next, but now i am wondering whether or not I'd start the next book by Trudi Canavan and follow the "series" either with prequel or sequel and i still never read To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee , other than that i have Pretty Little Liars (Pretty Little Liars #1) by Sara Shepard + City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare laying around

so my five:
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak The Magician's Apprentice (The Black Magician Trilogy, #0.5) by Trudi Canavan The Ambassador's Mission (Traitor Spy Trilogy, #1) by Trudi Canavan To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare

message 34: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn | 40 comments I loved The Book Thief by Markus Zusak , but it put me in a funk for three days after finishing it. No, "funk" isn't the right word...it wasn't depressing, exactly. I just couldn't get into any of the three or four other books I tried to listen to after it. I finally had to read some print brain candy to clear my palate before I could move on.

message 35: by Poonam (new)

Poonam | 35 comments I was hoping someone would pick that one. I loved it. and interestingly enough, I though that To Kill a Mockingbird was a good companion book for it because its told from the perspective of children that aren't fully aware of what's going on.

message 36: by Trutze (new)

Trutze | 4 comments Thank you Shojoholic and Poonam :)

message 37: by Linda (new)

Linda Boyd (boydlinda95gmailcom) | 108 comments This is a cool challenge, since I don't own audio books, I think I will just steal some of your books that are on your TBR's. I see some that I think I want to try, hopefully I will be able to get them from my library.

message 38: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn | 40 comments Poonam wrote: "...and interestingly enough, I though that To Kill a Mockingbird was a good companion book for it because its told from the perspective of children that aren't fully aware of what's going on."

That's a good point, Poonam. I haven't thought of them that way before, but they are a good match (and both 5-star reads, in my opinion).

I agree with you, I was off a few days after reading this book but I thought it was excellent.. Speaking of a book putting you off kilter, Have you ever read
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne.
It is excellent but the ending I never ever saw coming and it was jaw dropping. IMO.
This book I could never watch on TV or Movie but it will stick with you for a while.

message 40: by Jennifer C (new)

Jennifer C I have read both the Book thief and the Boy in the Striped Pajamas. I was also off for a little bit after listening to the book thief. That was my first book finished this year.

I have seen the movie for the boy in the striped pajamas. It was really well done, of course the book was better but the movie was good.

message 41: by ☻Nikki☻ (last edited Mar 17, 2013 09:27AM) (new)

☻Nikki☻ (nikkic1998) | 480 comments I'm going to post five again for myself. I'm not sure when I will be able to get to it since I'm in the middle of one & have the April Read-A-Long to start at the first of the month but at least I'll know what to have on tap for after that :)

Chasing Fire by Nora Roberts Her Mother's Hope (Marta's Legacy, #1) by Francine Rivers Little Women by Louisa May Alcott The Help by Kathryn Stockett Deadly Sting (Elemental Assassin, #8) by Jennifer Estep

message 42: by Jennifer C (new)

Jennifer C I recommend Chasing Fire by Nora Roberts . I read this after my first foot surgery. And I can still remember it in detail a year and half later. Very good book.
