Check out:
Let the right one in - John Lindqvist
Carmilla - Sheridan LeFanu (if you want a classic - this came before Dracula)
The Vampire Chronicles - Anne Rice (Includes: Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, Queen of the Damned and numerous others)
Salem's Lot - Stephen King
The Historian (I haven't read it yet but I've heard it was awesome)
Or try the sookie stackhouse series of which True Blood is based off of if you want more romance.
Hope that helped!
I liked the Historian, but saw a lot of people that didn't. It is a long book, so if you aren't really into it, it takes a while to read. Sad to say, that is the only book on Taylor's list I have read. Do have several on my TBR list though.

And with the release of Avengers, well, I've permanently cast Tom Hiddleston as Louis in my head. Dem sad, green eyes dat did it...
I know a lot of people love The Vampire Academy series (YA) and I've heard a TON of people speak positively about The Immortal Rulesby Julie Kagawa..which is also YA but seems to be of the non-cheesy vampire story variety. Also people seem to like the Sookie Stackhouse series.
I'd also welcome any suggestions (YA or adult)as I rarely read vampire stories.
