Anne Mikusinsi (abghostwriter) | 42 comments The title of my book was inspired by every male model on every cover of a paranormal romance. I write about a werewolf who has a cooking show on PBS, his eccentric family and friends(all weres and shifters) my title is "Real Werewolves Have Chest Hair"
Also inspired by the ridiculous Twilight movies.

Stephen Goldin (stephengoldin) I wrote a book whose dominant character (but not protagonist) is a very dynamic lady named Polly. I wracked myu brain, but Polly was so central to the book that I couldn't call it anything else--but just plain POLLY looked kind of blah. Then the editor suggested I put an exclamation mark at the end. I happen to be a Broadway musical aficionado, and I know that the shows "Oklahoma!" and "Oliver!" did better with exclamation marks, so my book became Polly! by Stephen Goldin .

On the other hand, I'll never know where I got the idea for the title of my book Tsar Wars.

Tommy Jason Charles (tommyjcharles) My first novel, Thirst, was so named because the term is central to the theme. (An alien race is beaming our water into space from a giant ship in the San Fransisco bay) Looking back, I should have chosen something that wouldn't get buried under a million vampire titles :P.

Julie Rainey For my first series I wanted something that was simple. Lost Princess seemed to fit since the main character was most literally a lost princess.

Glenn Wood My book was originally called The Manners Thief but my publisher suggested that kids don't really care that much about manners so I changed it to The Brain Sucker. Much better!

Just reading that description makes me want to read it!

Joshua Silverman I have two titles, the series title and the individual book title.

Since my series is inspired by ancient Greek and Egyptian mythology, I chose names that fit in that category.

The Amun Priests were an actual religious sect in ancient Egypt. So, they were chosen for the historical fiction aspect. Amun Ra is the name of the Egyptian god.

The Emerald Tablet was the translated names of the Books of Thoth, written by the Egyptian god of wisdom and magic.
