Smiling, Domonic lifted his head and glanced in Fox's direction. "Well great. I just don't want to get Debza into any harm." Heshtugged and kept looking into the file.

Jason had stumbled upon the little room by accident. He'd been prowling the halls, looking for somewhere he could escape from the watchful stares of the staff, and lo and behold he'd come across this little door, the old lock already picked, the large file cabinet in the back beckoning. This could only be the fabled file room, where all the information on patients were kept. There were a lot of secrets to be found there, for sure. Grinning, the serial killer slid the door open and slipped inside, closing it with a soft click behind him. Why not take advantage of the situation?

Quite the frequent visitor to the fabled file room, Bennett was in one of her moods. People were on her nerves, and she had always been one to let her frustrations out.

Luxurious dark curls tied back in a loose pony, Bennett quietly opened the door to the room, entirely planning on finding some poor soul to make a doll of.

She certainly didn't expect to see someone else inside.

Jason was busy looking for his own file--he wondered what the nurses liked to say about him--before the sound of the door opening caught his attention. He spun around, tensing lest there be a nurse at the door; but relaxed when he saw it was only another patient. His green eyes lost their fire, cooling considerably, and his voice came out calm. "Hey."

"Hey." Delicate voice was controlled, calm. Giving nothing away about her goals.

Bennett wandered to an entirely random cabinet, and opened the middle drawer. Delicate, nimble fingers scanned the files, looking for a name that seemed to... Stand out, one might say.

"Here for the same reason as me?" Jason asked, waving a hand at the cabinets. He took his place by the door, leaning against the wall and folding his arms. "Or are you looking for someone in particular?"

message 58: by Annie, Have no fear of perfection-- you'll never reach it. (new)

Annie | 7968 comments Mod
"Not exactly..... particular. Just somebody that stands out." Words were slow, as she was focused on other things. A little "ah ha" of satisfaction escaped Bennett's round, pink lips as she pulled out a file.

"Who ya got?" Jason asked, truly curious.

"(enter name here). A pretty thing," Bennett said with a small smile. She unclipped the photograph and showed it to Jason.

She sighed. "Pity. Notes say she's near time to recovery."

((XD Pick somebody random.))

"Nice," Jason drawled, a small smirk rising on his face. "What's she matter to you?"

Bennett paused, and sharp green eyes met Jason's. "Let's just say... She's my therapy."

A pale, delicate hand was offered. "Bennett."

"Jason," said he, and took her small hand in his, shaking firmly and then pulling back. "What're you in for, Bennett? What's your sob story?"

message 64: by Annie, Have no fear of perfection-- you'll never reach it. (new)

Annie | 7968 comments Mod
A slight shrug. "You could say anger issues. The nurses say I just get overwhelmed and don't know what I'm doing. But they lie, of course."

She was taking it so lightly, as if the truth didn't even matter. But it didn't. Of course, unless Jason got on her nerves.

message 65: by Hope , I belong here more than they do. (new)

Hope | 14351 comments Mod
"Of course." Jason nodded in agreement. "They say I get like that too. Say I go outta my mind and hurt/kill people. They have to put me in a straightjacket when that happens, it's that bad. So they say." The boy rolled his eyes, clearly disbelieving.

Bennett smirked. "Well, I guess we aren't that different after all."

Green eyes glanced down at the photograph once more. She was a pretty thing. Unfortunately, hazel eyes were problematic. Hazel beads simply did not exist. She pouted slightly, but there wasn't much to be done.

"Are you lesbian or what?" Jason asked with a small smirk of his own. "It's just a picture, girlie. You don't have to look so scrutinizing."

((My turn to shower. BRB))

Annie | 7968 comments Mod
A slight startle. "Pardon?"

Bennett caught the misunderstanding, however, and laughed. "Oh, no, no. It's just the eyes. Hazel beads are practically impossible to find, you see."

((Kay.))

((Sorry, GR wouldn't let me on.))

"Beads?" Jason raised his eyebrows and gave a quizzical tilt of his head. "Why on earth would you need beads?"

((It's okay.))

"To make the doll, of course." Bennett acted as if it should have been obvious.

"A doll?" Jason didn't try to hold back his laughter. "You can't be any holder than me; why the heck do you need to make a doll?"

Bennett ignored the laughter and shrugged. "They let me get my anger out."

A small smirk. "You really don't know who I am, do you?"

Jason raised his eyebrows and shook his head. No, of course he didn't. He wasn't Raven, the boy who was rumored to know everything about everybody and never reveal how he found out. "I have no idea who you are, Bennett."

A small sigh. "You've heard of the girl who makes voodoo dolls?"

"Nope. I don't get out much." Jason's shrugged. "I guess you're her, huh?"

A slight nod. "Mhm. Made one of my mother when I was thirteen, and she flipped out and sent me here. Not that it did much to help."

"Serial murder, inanity, sadism and sociopathy," Jason said, looking almost proud. He chuckled. "I have a lot that's wrong with me."

A small smile escaped the small girl. "It's not necessarily anything wrong with you.... It's just that you suck at dealing with problems." A ghost of a grin crossed her lips.

At this, the chuckle turned into a cackle as Jason threw his head back. "Amen!" he laughed. "Amen, sister."

The smile broke out for a second, a rare second. Bennett turned to face the open cabinet behind her for a moment, laying the file in her hands down behind her and scanning through the notes.

"So, then, you're in here for the same reason I am, I suppose?"

message 83: by Hope , I belong here more than they do. (new)

"Doesn't sound very similar, but maybe." Jason shrugged. "It was the police and a whole bunch of doctors that sent me here, though. My parents wouldn't have given a shit if I'd jumped off a thirty foot cliff and died screaming on the rocks."

Yvette was scared. Very scared.

Raven went missing the day she broke, the day she yelled at him. And she had seen the look on his face; he wouldn't have let it go. The nurses sent her looking for him, not knowing his vendetta against her, not knowing her reason for fear. She couldn't deny it.

And so here she was. The last place she would have ever looked. The frail beauty gently opened the door with a shaking hand, and took a brave step inside.

"Well, well, well. Look who's here." The voice came from above her, as surprising as it may have been. If Yvette looked closely, she would be able to just make out his silhouette. But it wasn't on the ground.

No, Raven was on top of the file cabinet.

How he got up there was a mystery in itself. It was--at least, it seemed--too high to jump; there was nothing else in the room to climb up on and spring from. There was a flash of white in the dark: his smirk? Hard to tell. "I thought they might send you."

Yvette winced. She knew he'd be in here.

She gulped, and blue eyes travelled up to the shadow. "It's not like I could have said no."

"Sure you could have. You could have told them about how scared you were." A quiet chuckle floated down to her. "But then they would have locked you up for paranoia, and nobody wants to be imprisoned where they don't belong." A pause, and the tone of his voice turned much more menacing. "But you people seem to have made a hobby of doing that."

Yvette didn't respond. It would be pointless, anyways.

She stepped fully into the room, and closed the door behind her. "Okay. Do your worst. Let's just skip the baiting and get it over with."

message 93: by Hope , I belong here more than they do. (new)

Hope | 14351 comments Mod
"Oh, but the baiting's half the fun!" Raven sounded disappointed, but he rose up--adding a good six feet to the cabinet's height--and jumped down, landing rather neatly in a crouch. Again he straightened, but did nothing more. Just looked at the young nurse.

"Fine. Whatever. Just get on with it."

Yvette was working hard to place a bored look on her face, one to mask the utter terror she felt.

His hand cracked across her face. "I'll get on with it when I damn well want to," Raven said quietly. "That's another thing you forgot to mention about me, Yvette: I have pretty bad anger issues."

((:D I pictured him like a black woman there xD))

Yvette flinched, and raised one hand to the slowly growing red handprints on her cheek. She refused to meet Raven's gaze.

((XD Indian man. But close enough.))

"That's better." Raven calmed at the submission, and figured he might as well start and finish before he got out of control and accidentally killed her. His hand disappeared behind his back, reappeared a moment later with something inside; but it wasn't like it mattered much what it was. There was no light on, it was safe to bet Yvette couldn't see.

"I want you to turn on a light, Yvette," Raven said. "So you can see what I'm holding."

((When she does, it'll be a knife. Six-inch thing; and I want our nurse to demand [perhaps fearfully, but whatever you want] how he got it.))

[sometimes you just get tired of describing].

Yvette did as told, and her frightened gaze landed on the knife. "Where... Where did you get that?"
