Andrew Culyer (andrew_culyer) | 18 comments Hello,

I am a new author on goodreads and just got started today. I have published an ebook called Theo Mallier: Growing Pains, about a man from a Newcastle council estate who runs for prime minister. It's a satirical, everyman story for which I have had no negative feedback so far (so far!).

I would welcome any feedback, questions, friend requests, discussions about writing...anything at all, really. I really enjoy talking about writing from the writer's point of view, and seeing how readers can see different things in what I've written.

It seems so easy to stay on this site all day long - there are so many things to look at and follow links to. It all feels a little overwhelming when you first start using the site, but will see how it goes!

Am also looking for discussions of writing tips if anybody can point me to one.

Thanks, Andy

Welcome to Goodreads Andrew and congrats on your book! You'll quickly find that GR is addicting. In fact, I'm supposed to be working right now but decided to 'check in.' :)

Here is a link to some writing discussions. I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but it's a start. I'm sure some of the other authors here could help you a bit more with that:

Andrew Culyer (andrew_culyer) | 18 comments Thanks, Sheri,

I'll have a look and am guessing it will become another two-hour session (with no writing being done:)

Andy.

Judith Post | 391 comments Hi, Andrew! What kind of writing tips? Craft stuff like characters, plotting, pacing, etc.? Or more specifics?

Andrew Culyer (andrew_culyer) | 18 comments Hello Judith. I think it's more just seeing what other people do with their writing. I am quite confident in my writing and seem to have fallen on a style I want to keep and hone - I would even like to help other people's writing if I can. It was more for that, really - just to see how other people do it.

Thanks, Andy.

Judith Post | 391 comments I can't think of a site like that. Sorry. There probably is one, but I haven't tried it. Glad you've found what works for you. It takes a minute. Each writer has to find their own voice and style, etc.
