Dorm 222

Dinah was sitting on the bed, clad in a yellow chiton. She was copying something down a new recipe from one of her mythology books. It was tiring but the task had to be done. Dinah sighed and finished the recipe, walking over and laying it on the vanity.
There was a light knock at the door. Miriam stood on the other side, wearing nothing more than a a large t-shirt meant for a man; it went down to her thin ankles. She was studying the dorm number while she waited for the door to open up, committing it to memory, trying to remember that her sister was on the other side and this was her dorm. She would forget in time, of course, and she knew that, but for now she would try and remember. Dorm 222 is Dinah's room. Doem 222 is Dinah's room. Besides, she had things she needed to talk about.
Dinah opened the door suspiciously, as naught but nurses or Miriam ever really visited the Oracle. Ah, but it was the little songbird herself, and Dinah's guarded expression melted into one of pleasure. "Hey, Miriam. C'mon in." Opening the door wider, she beckoned her little sister into the room.
Miriam smiled and gave a little wave, skipping lightly inside. "Hi," she said quietly, walking over to sit on the bed. "Hi, Dinah." She sat down, then looked off into the distance, thinking. What songs could she sing to her sister now, ones that fit what she wanted to talk about? It would take thought; but the young girl was already trying out different melodies under her breath, humming. Already, she was almost lost to the world.
Dinah pushed the curtains away from the window, for once, sending lots of dust into the sunlit air. Squinting, she returned to her stool to wait patiently for Miriam. Dinah could tell that her little sister was gathering thoughts and lyrics, finding the right song to express herself.
"Paranoia is in bloom.
The PR transmissions will resume.
They'll try to push drugs to keep us all dumbed down,
and hope we never see the truth around.
Another promise, another scene.
Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed.
And all the green belts wrapped around our minds;
and endless red tape to keep the truth confined..."
The first few lines from Muse's Uprising flowed from little Miriam's lips a moment later. She was not happy with the asylum, with who she was kept around, the lines said. Of this Dinah was constantly reminded: for the most part, Miriam did not like being cooped up here so much, at least not in the building. The nurses never let her outside because there was a chance she would wander and hurt herself, and this frustrated her beyond belief. She was trying to let her sister know that.

After a few moments of contemplation, Dinah nodded. "Annoyed with this place? Frustrated?" She gestured to the outside to the hallway with disgust, her normally serene face moulded into a frown. "I know, I feel the same. May all those nurses die a horrid and violent death at the hands of the gods!" The last sentence was an eerie uttering, green-blue eyes blazing and hands clenched.
Miriam gave a small, small smile in response to the fierce words. She agreed, of course, but that was hard to convey when one's thoughts wandered as hers did. She thought a moment, searching the song for more lyrics that would fit with what exactly she was frustrated with.
"Interchanging mind control.
Come let the revolution take its toll.
If you could flick a switch and open your third eye,
you'd see that we should never be afraid to die.
Rise up and take the power back.
It's time the fat cats had a heart attack."
She skipped the entire chorus to move on to the second verse, but Dinah was used to the process she called song-skipping, where she randomly jumped about the song as he emotions required. Now she was saying that she didn't want to listen to the nurses and was quite tired of being pushed around, just about ready to go and straight-out disobey them.

"Oh, yes." A mischevious smile graced Dinah's petal pink lips as she thought about what would really make the so-called "fat cats" freak out. "But we can't just disobey them, Miriam. We just have to hold on until the right moment, or else they might lock us up. All alone. Would you like for me to talk to them, then about letting you go outside with me once in a while? I'm sure that they'd be okay with it if I were there."
At this, Miriam nodded quickly. "Yes!" she said, eyes widening with excitement as a bigger smile lit her face. "Yes, Dinah! Let's go. Can we go out now?" She hadn't felt sun on her skin or grass under her bare feet in what felt like forever, and she longed for the feelings. "Let's go," she repeated. "Can we go now, Dinah? Please?"
"Alright! We should check in with a nurse, and we'll be on our merry way, you little songbird!" Dinah grinned, as she hadn't heard such coherent speech from her little sister in such a long time. It brought back memories of their small, tidy home, and walking to school together in the mornings and afternoons. Jumping up from the stool, Dinah outstretched a hand to Miriam, eyes dancing.
Miriam squealed and took it, but not before she threw her skinny arms around Dinah's waist in a hug, murmuring into her: "Thank you." Then she let go, took her sister's hand instead, and moved off towards the door.
((Do you want to fade out and do an outside RP later? I've got ones on hold with Lena and Faith in the park and peach tree.))

Dinah giggled, the sound bubbling out of her at her sister's enthusiasm.
((Yes, perfect. Fade.))

A loud, frantic knock came to the Oracle's door and behind it, a bedraggled Hunter with disasterous looking red curls and wide, panicked eyes of cobalt blue that burned like a blue fire. "Prophetess?" Rosemarie called out weakly, and gave another good knock. Her shaky legs almost buckled underneath her with hysteria.
But Dinah was already at the door, motioning the Huntress in with one hand, blue-green eyes flashing with worry. Once Rosemarie was inside, Dinah closed the door to prying eyes and poured her a cup of chamomile tea. "Here, drink this. It'll calm you down, but it's hot." Dinah soothed in her standard calm, kind voice. "Now, sister. Tell me what ails you."

The Hunter nodded, taking the drink in her hands and taking a sip, wincing slightly at the heat. "Oh, sister," Rosemarie groaned, placing a hand to her forehead. "I fear I may have betrayed M'Lady Artemis." A single tear escaped her eyes, retracing the almost dried teat tracks already on her cheeks. It was easy to tell that she was on the verge of a panic attack, if not already in the midst of one.
"Oh. Oh my." Eyes were wide, and the Oracle herself was taken aback by the sheer intensity of the act. Betraying a goddess was serious business. Bustling over to her vanity, Dinah grabbed a few laurel leaves and a lavender-scented pillow. "This will help, too." She laid the pillow on Rosemarie's lap, before perching on her three legged stool and holding the laurel leaves in her hands. "Do you want to ask Apollo?"

"Uhhh," Rosemarie's eyes unfocused for a moment, slightly more calmed down because if the tea and the pillow, but not fully. "Yes, I think I do. I cannot yet face my goddess, but perhaps she will forgive me if she knew everything that went on. Oh, damn Raven! He's been purposely playing mind games with me for weeks!" For a moment, Rosemarie panicked again ten gained control of herself once more.
"Ahh. So Raven is the one who tempts you to stray from your chosen path of immortality, sister." Though she quickly turned her face away from the Huntress, there was a hint of a smile on pink lips. Hopping off the stool, Dinah whirred around the room, lighting some herb concoction in the brazier, drinking a sip of peppermint tea, then finally, once everything was ready, alighting once more on her divining stool. Closing her eyes, and breathing deeply, the Oracle popped a few of the sacred laurel leaves into her mouth and chewed thoughtfully. Though they tasted rather awful, the fair-hair girl kept chewing, finally swallowing and breathing deeply of the smoke that wafted around her dark room.
Finally, she opened her blue-green eyes, glassy and unseeing, and turned toward Rosemarie. After a few unintelligible mutterings, she spoke, voice deeper than usual:
"The mother bird does not love her young
'till their glossy black feathers have grown in."
Thus said, Dinah began to shake, her words morphing back into nonsense. She then slumped forward, finished.

Rosemarie shuddered at Dinah's appearance, though she was used to seeing her during prophecies, they jut usually didn't effect her so much. The riddle continued to repeat itself in her mind, and she shuddered again hen she realized that ravens had black feathers. Hoping for a distraction, even if for a moment, the Hunter rushed to aid her friend.
Placing one arm around the Prophet's shoulders, Rosemarie guided Dinah to her stool, placing a soothing hand on her arm. "Are you all right, sister?"

((Rosemarie is falling in love with Raven, but he won't fall in love with her until she becomes evil. Or at least that's what I was thinking, but you two could definitely decide on a meaning as they are your characters.))
"Mmm-hmm." Her reply was feeble, as prophesies took much out of young Dinah, but all seemed to be well. "What did Apollo say?"

"He said, The mother bird does not love her young
'till their glossy black feathers have grown in." The Hunter shook her head, perplexed. "What does that mean?"

((Hehe. Whats great about the prophecy is that its actually true, Mother ravens won't acknowledge their young until their feathers have grown in and the moms can tell whether they are their babies or not. The baby ravens have to live off dew until then. Weird, huh?
OMG YES IT IS SILVY. HOW DID I NOT SEE THAT?!))
"Hmm....I would have to give it some thought." Dinah mused, already wandering in her thoughts as she tried to interpret her own words. Laying back on the bed which she had been laid on, she closed her eyes, beads of sweat popping out on her pale face. Then, with a start, she sat up abruptly. "A raven! Raven's...do not feed their young until their feathers have grown in! Oh, Rosemarie!" Dinah gasped, fingers clutching the Huntress' arm.

[Really weird. But cool.
AND YES IT JUST FREAKING CAME TO ME!! IT'S LIKE, PERFECT!!]
"What, Dinah? What does that mean?" Her hand met the Oracke's wrist, her own grip clutching and tight. "Obviousky it has something to do with raven, but what? And does this mean Artemis will abandon me?"

((Ikr?))
"The mother bird...that's Raven, then....does not love her young...I...I think that's you...um...'till their glossy black feathers grow in...that's the puzzling part. I just don't get it!" Dinah cried in anguish. Though they were technically her own words, she hoped that Artemis wouldn't forsake her most loyal Huntress.

"I have enough troubles with Raven without having to worry about this!" She groaned, racin her pale hands through her red locks. "Dinah, what if Artemis decides to abandon me? I mean, I'll admit, I kissed him, but it wasnt out of lust at all. It was just to confirm that I was loyal to my goddess. If she abandons me, I'll have nothing left. I'll be nothing, I won't have any importance in te wild without my goddess to guide me!" Panicked once again, Rosemarie could now feel her throat close up as he panic increased.
"NO!" The word was strong, loud. "No, Rose, it's from Lady Artemis herself! You have to gain Raven's trust, and fall in love with him, so that he won't hurt anyone else!" Though Dinah knew that that was far from the real meaning of the prophecy, it didn't hurt to have Rosemarie believe otherwise. And it was true, that Artemis hadn't abandoned Rosemarie. She could sense it, and thankfully, Oracles were never wrong.

The redheaded Hunter breathed out in relief, bringing a hand to her head where she could feel a migraine coming along. "Dinah, this is an impossible situation. I can't fall in love with Raven without betraying Artemis, which isn't an option, but if I don't fall in love with him, he'll keep playing with my mind and makin me think I love him. Oh, sister, what am I going to do? I've true avoiding him, and it isn't possible."
"The point is, you have to fall in love. You won't be betraying Artemis by doing that, because she knows that you really despise all men, like her. He's a threat, and if you fall in love with him, you're playing mind games of your own. Plus, I'll always be there to protect you, sister." Dinah reasoned, arms encircling the redhead.

The Hunter remained stuff for a moment, the scenario running through he mind again. But the Oracle had convinced her, and slowly her arms encircled the blonde as well. "Thank you, sister. I don't know what I'd do without you." As Rosemarie closed he eyes, she allowed a sigh to escape her.
"And I, you. I mean, no one else believes in the true gods and goddesses!" Though a frown settled on Dinah's face, she was quite happy that Rosemarie was calmed.

Dark and warm, just as Dinah would like it to be. Large curtains cover the one window, effectively stopping most light into the room. In one corner, a small bed stands, heaped with pillows. In the centre of the room, there perches a tall three legged stool, along with a brazier on the floor in front of it, ideal for divining. Various incense sticks are nearly always burning, but Apollo only knows how she got a match or lighter to light it. A mahogany wardrobe sits near the door, filled with long pieces of fabric for chitons, along with a vanity table containing all of Dinah's recipes and ingredients for divining.
Dinah is available for a roommate, though most would not be able to sleep with her constant seizures and prophecies.
