(btw, do you know what happened to some of our group numbers? didn't we have something like 119 members up to yesterday or so?)
There were some people who had joined at the start and weren't active and hadn't posted. I contacted them then waited again so I removed them from the group. I think at the start people requested to join that weren't from the forum and another mod accepted them and some joined and forgot their login.

ah, I thought it might have been something like a little cull, because there were so many inactive members. really I was just being nosy, because I'd noticed the sudden decrease in numbers. thanks.
I know it may come across as harsh but if they haven't been active since they joined, group mails and personal mails haven't roused them then I'd rather cut the numbers down and up the activity ratio. It's only the third time I've done it (usually less) and it makes me feel a bit nasty but I hate looking at the number of members and only about 20% are active. There are still members who have never posted but if they are active on the site I'll contact them soon and see if they start posting. I'll also be contacting members who posted at some point but have drifted off. The more we participate the better the group:)
It's not harsh, you gave them a chance to reply in private if they wanted to. I can't tell you how many times I've joined a website forgotten my login and had to create multiple accounts. I know some people are painfully shy but some of us are completely honest on here and I don't see why people should stalk us. It's like facebook if people don't keep in touch with or vice versa I'll send them few messages if they don't reply I'll delete them, I don't want people seeing what I'm up to or pictures of my kids if they won't even talk to me.
