Robert A. Babcock | 4 comments My novella "The Knackerman: A Tale of Joy and Despair, Damnation and Redemption in Old Chicago" has just been published at Amazon for Kindle.

UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Knackerma...

US: http://www.amazon.com/The-Knackerman-...

This fictional story, set primarily in late 19th century Chicago, contains elements of mystery, suspense, romance, and the deliciously macabre, lightened by bits of humor. You can read the more detailed synopsis at the Amazon page; click on the cover to read a sample.

For those of you who enjoy a cherry on your literary sundae, the "Notes" section that follows the tale contains factual information about places and people mentioned in the story, and also an account of how the story originated. Decorative flourishes in the table of contents and chapter headings recall those found in late 19th century books, lending a graphic richness not often found in fiction ebooks.

"The Knackerman" can be read on all Kindle devices and is enrolled in the Kindle Owners' Lending Library. For those of you who don't own a Kindle, apps are available for phones, computers, and tablets at
