I'm from Bookkus Publishing we are opening in September, but are wondering what authors want from publishers.
First I'd like to discuss editing. I know getting an editor is one of the most important things for an author. We agree in that it is essential. But editing is expensive. So we are trying to think of some ways to cut down the cost but still get the same result and what would be okay with you?
2. We look for fresh blood. We find 30 new editors with limited experience. We give them a written book selection (yours or in your genre) and have them edit it. You review the editing selections and choose the best editor. We also review it and choose ours. Our in-house editor reviews them and also gives his opinion. Together we decide on the best one for your book.
3. We create a crowd sourced platform for editing books. A group of people recommend changes and edits.
4. We find the best editors in the business and pay them each $100,000 dollars a year to edit our books. They can edit 10-15 books a year roughly.

1. We hire a freelance editor from http://the-efa.org or http://www.editors.ca. We both help narrow down the best editor for your book and hire them.
