Robin (robinsullivan) | 21 comments Hello all,
So I've just picked up Name of the Wind after hearing so many good things about it. I've not really started it but I really think I'm going to enjoy it.

I heard about this group in the fantasy group so thought I would come on over.

Nathan | 2 comments You will love the book. I just finished it last night. One of the best books I've read in the past few years. It had been recommended to me by various people, but I put off reading it for a while. I wish I'd read it sooner, but at least now I don't have to wait as long for book two.

Robin (robinsullivan) | 21 comments So 65 pages in - Starting Chapter 9 - I'm really enjoying this. I like the idea of someone hiding out at an inn despite his great deeds in the past.

Kelsey Baguinat (kelseybaguinat) | 21 comments Hello! You are going to absolutely adore it! I really cannot rave enough about this book. I work at a Barnes and Noble, and I've literally hand sold 15 copies of it in the last 2 weeks. Anybody wants a recommendation, and I hand them The Name of the Wind. Anybody who doesn't want a recommendation, I hand them The Name of the Wind. It's definitely one of the best books I've ever read.

Lol Kelsey - I need you to get my husband's book - and hopefully be similarly impressed and push it!!

So I did finish the book - and I did "love it"....but...I really don't like the way it ended - I think books in a series need to be more "self-contained" and I thought this book would have been better if it had been "broken along different lines" - i.e. one book when he was with his family, one book when he was on the streets, one book at the university. etc.

There is just too much "open" in the ending of this book and I don't think it gives a satisfying "closure"

Dallas | 18 comments I think the ending of book 1 stems from the fact that Mr. Rothfuss originally wrote ,what is now a trilogy, as one book. So they had to chop it up and edit it.

Is that really true? Pat can you comment? It certainly comes off that way but I'm not sure if it actually happened or just appears that way
