Kat (katzombie) | 2478 comments Can I shamelessly try and convince more people to join Team Toppler? ;)

message 8: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments And can I shamelessly try and get people to leave the Topplers and come over to the dark side? :D

message 9: by Kat (new)

Kat (katzombie) | 2478 comments Pfffft why would they want to leave Team Toppler for the Tippies?

message 10: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4038 comments jaxnsmom, I am with you. :)

message 11: by Sue (new)

Sue I'm sittin' here!

Janice (jamasc) | 59959 comments Are you staging a sit-in Sue?

message 13: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments You poor Topplers, all you're going to do is topple some books over. We Tipplers are also going to topple some books, but we're going to get tipsy too :) And you can join us. We all know the dark side is more fun!

Mikki jaxnsmom wrote: "We Tipplers are also going to topple some books, but we're going to get tipsy too :)..."

So, that's how they plan to win. They will be seeing double and then mistake that for reading two books. ;D

message 15: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments But we'll give them different titles :p

message 16: by Kat (new)

Kat (katzombie) | 2478 comments Or it could be a disadvantage - they'll get all giggly and silly and fall asleep. Meanwhile WE will be talking about all the great books we are flying through AND reducing our TBRs :-D

message 17: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4038 comments No Kat, with tea keeping us awake, who's going to sleep? Not us!

*watches as all members now abandon ship and sign up for the other side! Lol*

Kat, have you noticed that all of the Tipplers keep coming over here to talk, LOL, and have fun? What does that say to you?

Mintymedley | 60 comments Mintymedley will be a Toppler! I can't wait!

message 22: by Maria (new)

Maria (aminowrimo) | 463 comments Minty, we must do justice to our e-mum and -- ahem-- beat the other team solidly!

message 23: by Mintymedley (new)

I thought in ya'lls case it stood for envious and enormous egos :)

Kat (katzombie) | 2478 comments Tremendously Outright Perfectly Positively Overwhelming Reading

Yep, it's about the books.

message 31: by Maria (new)

Maria (aminowrimo) | 463 comments Wayall... now that you mention it... yes. That too. Except that it's enviable.

message 32: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments aaacckkkk, help me. I'm being squashed by that enormous ego overinflating :) Hope I don't get too much goo on me when it explodes :D

message 33: by Maria (new)

Maria (aminowrimo) | 463 comments Oh, it won't explode. Not until June 17th, when I'll freely admit that perhaps the Topplers are only mere mortals, dependant on tea for all energy. XD

To my other worthy teammates! I've planned out the books, I've got an idea of exactly how much sleep, food, and 'non-reading time' I'll be able to have (possibly none), and I've figured out that it's aaalll doable.

I woz speakin in accent innit - gettin ready for da toppor!

No, it's just a reason why I shouldn't be posting at 3am ;)

message 37: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments too funny! I thought maybe it was because I was reading it at 5am :)

message 38: by Maria (new)

Maria (aminowrimo) | 463 comments Pragya... no. I've been told that I'm crazy when I talk about my organization... but I've never been told that I'm way organized. Organized, yes. Crazy, yes. Way organized... now also a yes.

message 39: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4038 comments Ha ha! I need to learn a lesson or two from you, Maria.

message 40: by Maria (new)

Maria (aminowrimo) | 463 comments XD I need to learn a lesson from other people. I've managed to slow down on writing-- now I'm not aiming ridiculously high, but reading has suddenly taken on this break-neck pace. I've got 28 books I'm aiming to read during the toppler. Granted, 14 of them are Wizard of Oz books... and they're short... but there's SOMETHING that's going to give. XD

I think I've got something wrong in some neuron in my brain... something alays has to be done fast.

(To clarify-- I'm only assuming I'll actually finish 10 of those books. The Old, New, Borrowed, Blue books, at least three Fairy and three Oz books, and that's it. Anything more and I'll be astounded).

message 41: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4038 comments 28 books!! *whistle*

message 42: by Sue (new)

Sue 28 books! *faint*

message 43: by Mikki (new)

Mikki Maria wrote: "Usually it stands for electronic and excellent and exceptional and exemplary... I'll stop now."

and ever so effervescent! :)

message 44: by Maria (new)

Maria (aminowrimo) | 463 comments Don't faint, please!

Half of them are short books. The others are really easy reads-- I've got two plays, 9 short story collections (fairy tales), 14 children's books, and then there's one entertaining travel account/love story, one classic my mom read to me ages ago, and then one memoir which I highly doubt I'll actually be able to read. So everything should be pretty relaxing if I don't get restless.

I'll be reading all day on the 16th (mostly, I'll hopefully get to meet with a friend in the airport). We also get 4 extra hours that day, and it's the airport, which means I'll be reading. On the 11th and 15th my brother has plans to sit and use the internet, so I'll have those days too. It's all doable... I hope.

You're totally right, Mikki!

Welcome to You'll Love This One. Joining a TBR Toppler is a great way to get acquainted with everyone as there is a lot of kibitzing and bantering going on.

message 47: by Maria (new)

Maria (aminowrimo) | 463 comments Not recently, but I do think you told me at the beginning that you were glad I liked loved reading.

Welcome, Joe! I think you're the first guy in a toppler so far? (Correct me if I'm wrong, ladies). I'm Maria, 17, love reading, and I'm currently traveling for 15 months with my family, so if you hear me moaning about so-and-so random location, that's why. XD
