Jeanie (birdyseeds) | 382 comments I generally read most of Mr. Baldacci's books when they come out. I read The Innocent a couple of weeks ago. I enjoyed it. The plot is fairly sound and fast-paced. I haven't ranked it as of yet, however, just as John Puller from Zero Day really came across as a Jack Reacher/Joe Pike hybrid, Will Robie, the protagonist from The Innocent is a Mitch Rapp clone. I'm not sure what is up with David's creative process right now, but these two last books' protagonists so resemble ones already created by Lee Child, Robert Crais, and Vince Flynn as to be almost plagiaristic. I know he has the ability to be more original. His "Camel Club" and "King & Maxwell" series of books are fabulous and are entirely unique, so... I don't know what is up with him right now. Since you're new to his work, I recommend, after you've completed "The Innocent" to either read Split Second, the first book in the "King and Maxwell" series or The Camel Club, the first of the series with the same name. (smile) He's a great writer... I just think he's sort of floundering right now. Happy Reading!

Charlene I have read many of Baldacci's books but was unaware that he had a new one out. I will look forward to your review and will put the book on my to read list. I enjoyed his earlier works like The Winner. I like the Camel Club series too.

Dee (deee22) I have read a number of Baldacci's book and especially enjoyed the series starring Sean King and Michelle Maxwell, Split Second, Hour Game, Simple Genius, First Family! I haven't read the 5th book in the series The Sixth Manbut my teenage son has and loved it!

Georgia | 554 comments For the most part Baldacci is a pretty good writer. I liked The Winner by David Baldacci Saving Faith by David Baldacci I have read maybe six of his and these, for me were the best so far; however, I have some more in my bag of books TBR, but I do intend to read the Innocent
