Susan | 3 comments I just finished reading Ann Rule's In the Still of the Night. I am not a huge fan of hers anymore really but I had seen the story (with her) on Dateline recently and thought I would read it. While I did see her typical judgmental and opinions in this I also often tried to feel a little sympathy for her.

The book is about the death of Ronda Reynolds. The mother has fought for 13 years over the manner of death. The mother initially contacted Ann Rule. I tried to keep that in mind while reading it because of the issues that Joe McGinnis had when he wrote Fatal Visions about Jeffrey MacDonald where he was sued and lost.

I just wonder if maybe these books that are written now with the permission of one side or the other are really worth reading to the point of them being objective.
