This question is specifically for those who love/like PNR. What do you like best in a PNR hero?

I like like both of the aboves but I also like when he gets jealous, because things definitely heat from there.

They sort of have King of the world attitudes, you know masters of there own domain, totally in control, i love that. That makes me and the heroine feel safe and secure. Also there possessivness really does something for me, so yeah definitely when they say "MINE". Thats always a real winner.

I agree with you ladies. I love the alpha male attitude. Also, a witty smart ass sense of humor. I love a guy that can make me laugh.

I love a possessive/jealous hero, and I think that they work particularly well in PNR books. I like that fated mate connection and that he will do anything to protect his heroine.

I agree with the possessive MINE attitude. My knees also totally turn to jelly when the hero oozes a natural confidence that is just on the right side of arrogance. ;) So yeah, Alpha Male all the way.

I can't pass up a tortured hero. He must also be an alpha-type, who is gentle and loving to his heroine.

I like the PNR hero a lot, but I also like the fantastical world-building. I think in a PNR the author can bend a lot more rules to deliver a happy ending. I like that about them.

All of the above! And the sky-the-limit aspect of PNR with all sort of powers and unnatural physical strenght (and stamina).

I love it when they are so dangerous and lethal (because of their power), but protective with their woman and with kids/little animals, etc. That totally makes me swoon :)

Definitely the alpha male attitude. And when he says or thinks: "mine". Oh, that one word makes me shiver in a good way. The BDB and IAD males are good with that =)

All the things that have been mentioned so far turn me on. What makes the guy special though is how no matter how strong and how bad-ass, he is just mush in the hands of his woman. That inner vulnerability just melts me. He recognizes that she is his heart.

and also when the hero shapeshifts in a kind of beast but always with a sort of human shape, he is really really dangerous but he treats the heroin with car and gentelness ... it makes me melt <3

It's always the caring way he treats he heroine that gets to me too!

I love layers to the male lead. Zsadist in The Black Dagger Brotherhood is my favorite !!! He is a complex character because of his past, and his past and his experiences make him dark, dangerous and very hot!! In reality if a man said 'mine' to me and was as controlling as some of these guy I would be filing a restraining order so I'm not sure why I fine that sooo sexy in a book but I do!!

I agree with pretty much everyone here - it's the possessive, protective "MINE"-ness of the H that totally makes me weak in the knees. And acknowledging the h has his heart is the icing on the cake. :)

I also like when a hero tries to lord over a heroine and she outsmarts him and he get's all cranky and mad about it.

I'm with you! It's a strange thing how when your reading it, it's so hot all the mineness and whatnot. But in reallity if some guys said it I'd probably try to kick his ass!

It's the chase/pursuit for me.... you can't beat a book that keeps you on edge, never know if they will end up together or not, if the charter knows they love them or not!

But I also like when/if something happens to the girl and the get scare as hell or loose control. Love when they're so put together and later -Bang- she makes him loose control. =)
