ARCHIVE ONE: PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF ~

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. (There is a link on the top right of the reply box.) It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo (when available) and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.
This is how a book you mention should look:

Hello everyone! My name is Karla and I am from good ol' Los Angeles, CA! I am a premed student at UCLA so any suggestions of books about medicine and its history will be greatly appreciated. I hated reading for as long as I can remember. I know that's just blasphemous on here, but yes I never really enjoyed "reading for fun"...until now! I feel like I need all the knowledge I can gather in preparation for the career I have chosen. I need to feel like an intellect and I need to train my brain to read and read and read or else medical school will be the death of me! I am also the proud mommy of 2, Alyssa(9) and Elijah(7), who also aren't very fond of reading at their wee age but I am working on that. Well, that's a brief intro about me. Looking forward to reading and sharing ideas with all of you!

Lim: Ann might be correct; the add book/author might be an issue with smartphones, so check on a PC and see...

Welcome Lara. I hope you will join in on some of the book discussions we have here. They are quite varied, so you should be able to find a book you're interested in.

I'm from Arizona. Belong to a library based book club, Fiction Folks. Enjoy reading, languages, video games, cats...
My name is Michele.

I'm Iris and I live in CA. I am a professional, a wife, and a mom. One can say that I am "Jane-of-All-Trades." I am no expert, but I live to learn about anything and everything. I learned how to play the steel drum and piano, golf, dance hip hop, bake cupcakes, make cake pops, cook fancy dish and sauces, sew, and recently, established a virtual book club (Divas On Peruse). As Neale Donald Walsch would say,...."Life begins at the end of your comfort zone."
I am very excited to be a member of The History Book Club.

Thanks and glad you joined us.

Lewis there is no self promotion. We would love you to join the group but we have some guidelines for authors and we do not allow them to publicize that they are even authors, etc. We delete all such posts.
