Bryan Craig Welcome, Mike. Glad you could join us.

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you are ready to cite a book. (There is a link on the top right of the reply box.) It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.

This is how a book should look:

The Passage of Power (The Years of Lyndon Johnson, #4) by Robert A. Caro Robert A. Caro Robert A. Caro

Take a few moments to read the orientation:

And our guidelines:

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask us moderators. I look forward to your postings.

Michelle Jones Urfer (michelleurf) | 4 comments Hi - I'm Michelle, and I'm new to this group. I have to admit I'm a little overwhelmed by all the notices I'm getting already - it's tough for me to follow all the posts and messages....I'm kind of technologically-challenged....LOL But I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else is reading and seeing your recommendations for good books to read. I LOVE U.S. History - I enjoy reading about the Civil War, WWII, American Presidents, the U.S. West, and Native Americans mostly, but I will read almost ANYTHING.....I've read some Russian history and ancient Roman history too and really enjoyed that, so I'm open to finding new areas of history to explore!

Bob, your introduction was fine. It was the post specifically looking for a book that I was referencing (I think Bryan actualy moved it.) Because there is a thread specifically for that where people can go for those types of questions we moved it there. This thread is just for introductions and welcomes. If you have any questions at any time please feel free to ask any of the moderators, or consult the mechanics of the board thread where we address some of the how-to and guidelines. Glad you are jumping in and participating right away!
