can anybody say, why the baby was mentioned in the 35th chapter(king's cross) in the "harry potter and the deathly hallows" book? what does it say?

Witch baby?

According to the movie it was the part of voldermot that died. (The destroyed hocruxes). I guess King Cross was a station where the dead souls go to hell or heaven or whatever crap it is. Perhaps the half of voldermort was waiting for the rest half.

Ana Oh that baby!! Yeah I think that was an intersting fact and a great idea to include it in the book, it really makes you think.

I didn't get it until the movie, either. When I saw the movie I thought "Ohhh. I get it now!"
I guess they thought a lot of people would be (or were) confused and threw that in there. I'm glad they did, or else I'd still be confused.
I agree with Swathika. It was the part of Voldemort's soul that was inside Harry, sent there to die (that's what Dumbledore says). It's with him there because it died with Harry.
