Rebecca Hawker | 40 comments I am struggling to enjoy Night Star by A.Noel. I have read all the other Immortal books so far and had been enjoying them but starting to feel they drag on and become a little ridiculous. The idea of summerland is just getting a bit tiresome now and am not reading it with the same fervour I have other books. I wondered what others thought of this series?

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 839 comments I read the first two, three? I can't even remember now. I loved the first one but it seemed after that they went a little down hill. I may one day read them all but..not anytime soon. There are too many others out there that are far better.

Jennifer | 429 comments I liked the first, thought the second was just meh and couldn't even finish the third. I eventually took it to half price books just to get it out of my house

Rebecca Hawker | 40 comments I agree Jennifer. I was surprised as I did like the first book. Just really struggling to get into the latest, and like you said Mlpmom, I seem to put it aside for other books....better ones.

Cmkage | 231 comments I thought the first book was so-so and I only read the second and third books because I had bought a box set, but honestly, I didn't like them at all. I didn't continue the series after that.

Rebecca Hawker | 40 comments I totally agree, though I wonder why you didn't like it?

Allison | 247 comments I agree with the others...I read the first two or three and just got too annoyed to continue.

Sapir | 1 comments I agree with you! I liked the first book very much, but as I finished the third I got really enoyed. Somehow I don't feel like reading the third...

KONSTANTINA | 18 comments What are you talking about? I loved all the books. I didn't get tired of them. I think Alyson's writing is great and the plot was very interesting. I read all six books in no time, I really loved them. :)

Cmkage | 231 comments Well, to be honest, I found them just too shallow and cliche. There was a lot of potential, but it never got realized. One of the main things I disliked was that the Immortals had just too much power. There was pretty much nothing they couldn't do, which actually made things boring. I prefer stories where magic and powers come with more of a price.

Rebecca Hawker | 40 comments Yes, I do agree Cmkage. They could just materialise stuff and to be honest the idea of summerland just seemed to be overused and became annoying.

Jennifer | 429 comments I got irritated with how stupid Ever was. She never learned anything. And the more irritated I got with the character the more irritated I got with everything about her. By the time I quit all I could think about was what kind of dummy names their kid Ever.

Yeah, the name really was ridiculous. I've read a few books where I just had to wonder what the author was thinking when they came up with the names.

Rebecca Hawker | 40 comments Yes, did seem an unusual name. Normally I find the more unusual names seem to have some symbolic reason. I guess it goes with the titles like Ever More?

LOL! Sounds like me!
I also developed a deeply rooted allergy to red tulips.

I read them all, but I don't particularly recommend them. They started out okay, but the more I read, the less I liked the characters and the setting.

Nina (thebookishconfections) | 3 comments I've only read Evermore and decided the series is not for me. I mean, there are average series in which no matter how things are getting so cliche, you continue to read it simply because you enjoy it. But not with this. I started out liking it. But as the mysteries were solved, I started to dislike it more and more!

Vanessa Wester | 125 comments Totally agree with you. Read the first three and loved them. When I read Shadowland she lost me... I did not care anymore. Sometimes a series needs to know when to bow out gracefully! I'm not going to read the next one... you are not alone!
