Hi, Dinnae and welcome! I really hope you get a chance to get all of the books and read them in order.

I discovered Nora after J. D. Robb and became a fan. There are others here that are like you and only prefer J. D. Robb so you've got company:).

Hi Lynne & Dinnae! Welcome aboard. We're so glad to have you here. I'm both a Nora and a JD Robb fan. I love all the books. I would encourage anyone to read the In Death series in order...so many character introductions and development in this series. Love to have you join in the buddy reads anytime. We are just finishing Vengeance.

Nancy (nance_) I can't remember how I first discovered J.D. Robb's In Death Series, but I know once I'd started reading them I had to read them all to date. Then I discovered that it was even better to listen to them!! I think I've now read/listened all but the last 3 or 4 of them.

Shari | 7 comments Hi,

I have been reading these books forever. I am up to date on the series and anxiously waiting for the next one. I have read them all in book and audio format.
I really love all of the characters but I believe Mavis would be my favorite.

Welcome, Shari! You're the second person in three days to join who has listened to AND read the series. I think that's pretty amazing.

message 762: by Dinnae (new)

Dinnae | 2 comments wow - i wish i had the time to both listen and read! hahaha! ;) that is TOTALLY impressive! plus, i can't focus to listen to audio books... is that weird? lol

I have a problem with audio books to, Dinnae. Hearing the voice reading to me bothers my concentration. You're not alone! lol

message 764: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (nance_) It's something that's learned I think, the first few books I had a problem concentrating on what was being said. But now I have no problem at all. The reader for the J.D. Robb books is absolutely fantastic. Also the reader for Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series, the reader for Greg Ile's books, and the reader for Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series are also excellent.

Keep trying Star....I hated it at first and now its a lifeline and allows me to "read" in the car. I am on the 4th JD Robb and loving it. The reader is fantastic!

Oh, my goodness, this is one series we highly recommend you read in order. One of the most important aspects of the series is the character development that progresses with each book (which represents about one month of elapsed time in the series).

Thanks Jonetta I had no idea I'll look into buying the book in order

message 773: by Katie (new)

Katie Raeder (raederkatie) Check on ebay and see if you can buy the rest as either one auction like I was lucky enough to find or in groups. Good luck!! And yes it is very important to read in order as the characters grow and change Enjoy!!

Hi Simmi! Welcome to our group. Glad you discovered this series and are enjoying it. I, too, will have to say you need to read it in order. So much happening with the introduction of characters and the relationship developments from book to book. Look forward to discussing them with you!

Thank you, Katie, for offering Simmi that suggestion. There's also Paperback Swap that you can checkout. And, used bookstores are a great resource.

Lastly, these books are a library staple. If you haven't visited your local library, you haven't met your best book friend yet!

Good luck!

message 776: by Simmi (new)

Simmi Thanks for all the suggestions I think I'm going look online bookstores like Chapters. I also have a birthday coming up and Christmas is around the counter so I can add the J. D. Robb to
My wish list

message 777: by Teri (new)

Teri Woolley Hi! My name is Teri and I'm new to the In Death series. I first heard about the series from my Mom. She gave me 4 books but told me they were later in the series so I put them on my bookshelf. I was an Audible member and a few years back I had some credits to burn so I bought 5 In Death books but never listened to them. About 2 months ago I decided to restart my account at Audible, downloaded their app and noticed I have the first 5 In Death books. Well! Once I listened to Naked in Death I was hooked. I'm currently listening to Ceremony in Death. I've been trying to make them last but once I start its so hard to stop so I go through them pretty quick. I found the group on GR and am so glad I did. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and discussing this amazing series.
