Quynh (quynh_o) | 1269 comments Auto-chef!! That's on the top of my list. I'm not sure if I want a droid, I think I'd be too creeped out. *insert I, Robot mayhem*

And welcome Kim!

Not hardly. No matter what I did to myself to make me look good I would still have a horrible inferiority complex being with a younger man. I would rather it be the other way around. I don't know if I remember the quote exactly, but I would rather be an old man's darling then a young man's slave.

Paula (paulatau) | 3 comments Hi everyone! My name is Paula. I'm a newbie in this group. Can I just say how much I LOVE the In Death series! I've been listening to the books on audio from the library, and I just can't get enough! I love the interactions of the main characters, Summerset and Eve's relationship is hysterical to me, but I can totally see how much they genuinely care about each other. Not to mention Roark - seriously I need to find myself a clone of him! Anyways... I'm glad to find a group that is equally in love with these people!

message 60: by Quynh (new)

Quynh (quynh_o) | 1269 comments Hi Paula, and welcome! :)

Ya know, reading Roberts/Robb give me an non-idealistic image of what a man should be. No wonder I'm so picky! lol.

message 61: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberloverful) | 2 comments I'm so glad I found this group! I absolutely love J.D. Robb. I started the series last summer an have the read the whole series twice. That might seem excessive but I love them so much! However, I've known this series existed for a couple of years. I didn't start a few years ago because I believed it was a series where the heroine hooks up with a bunch of guys. I'm not into that kinda romance at all. I'm so glad was wrong. I'm also planning on reading the series again in a few months. I read the series out of order the first time and found reading it in order the second time much better. I can't stand to read out of order.

Welcome to the group, Paula! We have many members here who also listen to the books. Enjoy!

Welcome, Amber! If you check out our polls, you'll see that you've got a lot of company ere in re-reading this series. I know I have at least three times:)

message 63: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Hi everyone, I'm new to this group and sort of new to the In Death series. I started reading the series in February as part of a group reading challenge that some of my facebook friends were starting. A few of them had read the series before and basically decided that the rest of us should too, lol! I'd never read any Nora Roberts/JD Robb books before this series and really had no idea of what the series was about. I just trusted my friends to have good taste in books. Needless to say, they did! Now it's July and I just started Purity in Death and am still loving the series :)

Sue Hi everyone ! Looking forward to reading this series. I have been looking for a series to start, and have heard great things about this one. I have never read any of the books, so I will be starting on book #1.

Definitely start with the first one!! That way you'll get the characters better and you won't be looking at the page later on in the series and go "what are they talking about?".....they are a great read, enjoy!

Deena M | 1 comments Just getting into Goodreads and happened upon this group. My name is Deena and I love the series. I was out of reading for awhile and had missed several of the series. It is hard to go back and pick up which one I left off on but I have picked back up on some now and love the stories Nora puts out there. I met her once in Memphis at the Davis book store and she was very nice and neet to hear in person.

message 74: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidid73) | 25 comments Hi everyone, My name is Heidi. I can still remember the first "In Death" book I picked up - I was sort of snickering internally at the names of the books, and I only read through the first chapter or so. At the time, I felt like I was being dumped into the middle of a story and didn't feel like trying to catch up. A while later I started at the beginning of the series, and suddenly couldn't get enough. I've loved mysteries since I was a kid, and I have completely fallen in love with Nora's characters.

I've read straight through the series twice - once about 7 years ago (obviously there were fewer then!), and again earlier this year, when "New York to Dallas" came out. It gave me a new appreciation for the character development through the series. I'm looking forward to the next one!

Serina | 3 comments Hey there my husband let me buy a kindle fire. I really didn't know what I had at first. I mean I was hoping for internet which I'm happy to see I have too! I'd like to download a good book or series of books. I have no clue really which ones are good. I was reading on my friend Heidi's description of the Death series. Don't laugh at me. lol The more I read from you all about those books I'm beginning to believe that they ARE really good. I have to first learn how to even buy one & download. So, I'll just be peeping in to see what you all have to say about different books. I don't like real scary ones. I'd like to see somewhere where it tells about that series. I haven't found the place yet only hearing all of you say just how good they are. I'm 50 & besides working at Fred Meyer part time do have hours to read!

First of all, welcome to the group and this wonderful series. Most of us recommend you read the books in order, beginning with Naked in Death. So, you might let that be the first book you download to your new Kindle Fire (it's easier than you think).

Here's a link to the most comprehensive site developed for this series. This page provides an overview of the series, which I don't consider scary. It's more mystery and police procedurals with a bit of romance.

Yes, I will love them & thank you. Yes, I would love to start with the very 1st one! I'm writing that down now. I will go to that sight now or link! lol whatever you call it. I don't know the lingo too well.

Serina | 3 comments AWESOME!! One more question please? Will the books always stay on our kindle? I mean will there be enough room for all of them? I guess I just need to read more somewhere about the downloading of books. Maybe on Amazon right?

message 81: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidid73) | 25 comments Serina, Yes, there is plenty of room for all of them. If you look at the "Kindle Store" on Amazon, you should be set. If you have trouble, send me a FB meessage & I'll help out. :)

message 83: by Betty (new)

Betty | 9 comments I just discovered the "In Death" series this past June (I know, I've been living under a rock I guess!) and am LOVING it. One good thing about discovering a series that you enjoy later in the game is that there is there is so much there already to enjoy. Have been reading them in order thus far, becoming a fixture in my local library. Have not been able to find any of the novellas though. Anyway, I'm happy to have found this group.

Welcome, Betty, and it's never too late to join the party! I only discovered the series about two years ago so we're in the same boat. Lucky you to have these books in front of you.

About the novellas, have you searched for the anthology titles they were originally released in?

message 85: by Betty (new)

Betty | 9 comments Not yet, but I intend to. I only found them on audio, and I prefer to have a book to hold in my hands. Some of the copies of these older titles from the library are well worn paperbacks though.

You may want to follow our book list as it has the name of the novella and the anthology in which it was originally issued.

message 87: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn (carolync228) Hi, everyone, my name is Carolyn, and I've been addicted to the "in-death" series for about 6-7 years. I started out with Three in death, then knew I had to read them in order. So first thing the next morning I made a run to the book store and just couldn't get enough of the series. The people in them are just so attracting and compelling. They're my go-to books when I need a comfort read, and I've read all of them at least 3 times. Anyway, I'm looking forward to a lot of good discussion in this group, especially when the new one comes out. It's nice to know that there's a group of people who understand!

Sarah (sarah612) | 1 comments I'm Sarah. Just finished the first book "Naked in Death". I have put off this series forever because it seemed so daunting. 30something books..and growing! But now I can't believe I put it off for so long! I have always loved Nora Roberts' book, so I'm excited that I have so many more of hers to read now lol.

And also...Roarke. Hotness.

my name is Maria or Mary(it's the same)and I'm from Greece.

I've just joined the group, but I've been reading the In death series for a few months now.My godmother gave me Naked In Death a year ago,but I picked it from my bookshelf to read it only a few months ago and I'm totally hooked in the series since then... I'm reading the books in order, as I'm a huge "order maniac" according to my friends and got all of them in either paperbacks or pdf in my pc.Yesterday I finished Betrayal In Death and I am about to start Interlude In Death.

I am looking forward to chatting with you and I just hope I have enough time to do so without having school and stuff taking all my free time....

Amber (shiinebriight) | 4 comments Hi all,
My name is Amber and I am an 'In Death' addict. One of my girlfriends told me to read "Naked in Death" when I asked for book recommendations. 45 books later... LOL. I read the whole series (with the exception of the one that came out last week) for the past couple of months. I'm totally enthralled.

About me; I'm 30 and have one tiny tot (almost a year and a half) and I'm an East Coast transplant from the Midwest. I love, love, love to read. I always look into new recommendations. I'm in the middle of wedding planning central, and some days I wonder if I'll have a shred of sanity left at the end of the day. (Yet, I wouldn't change a thing!)

I'm so glad I've found this little group. I can't wait to get into the discussions of some of my favorite characters! Thank you so much for having me!
