Hi everyone! I'm Belles. I recently discovered this series thanks to the recommendation of Jonetta. I'm on #7 Holiday in Death. I'm only 25% through it right now, but I'm getting a kick out of (view spoiler)[Eve trying to find presents for everyone and Peabody pouting about it (hide spoiler)].

I'm definitely hooked. It's amazing that Robb can keep up the quality storytelling book after book. She's got a great cast of characters. So far these have all been 5 stars for me. I'll definitely be reading these again.

Question for those of you who have read the series: Should I read the novellas? Are they as good as the novels? I hate when I read a short story in a series and nothing really happens. The next book in my reading order is the first novella of the series and I'm debating whether to read them or skip them.

Yes, read the novellas. They most often pick up right where the previous book ends and tell a compelling, if short story. Character development continues - which is huge in this series. I think you'll enjoy most if not all of the novellas in this series. I love them.

Regarding the novellas...totally agree with Sandra. In fact, the one next for you picks up the next day after Holiday. Since the novellas advance the series timeline, I really don't recommend skipping them. There are some I love (including the first one) and some...not so much but I don't regret reading any of them.

Welcome Belles!!! I normally don't care for novellas, but the In Death ones are absolutely worth reading!!

I recommend reading the novellas, at least once. They fill in a few details.

Hi all!! I feel like a new member. I have been away for a while due to that crazy thing called life. LOL I took a break from reading (confession time) against my better judgment. I have a difficult time juggling hobbies, reading, fitness and quality time with my husband. I seriously need a planner. Wanting to get back to reading since I enjoy it so much, but I am a slow reader so I probably won't be able to participate much in the discussions. But I have enjoyed reading different books outside of my usual. Love this group!! Hope everyone had a great Christmas!!
