J.D. Robb discussion

Bonny, I can relate. When we moved to a smaller house I had to get rid of my physical book library that was over 12 bookcases (almost 7000 books). I had the complete collection of Noras books in paperback at that time and I remember the secondhand bookseller not even getting them up on the shelf before people were coming in and asking for the rarer books.

Due to the lack of space we started with ebooks and haven't looked back. I have replaced a lot of my old paperback and hardcover books with the ebooks and only have 2 bookcases with the harder to get physical books left.
The ebooks are so convenient as I can carry some of my library with me and not worry that I will have to carry all that extra weight with me.

Hello Bonny! I've just joined too. Definitely sympathize with you there. I travel a lot with my job and hauling books to and from countries was difficult. I would loan them to friends and then miss them. ;) My boyfriend bought me an e-reader recently and it really is so much easier!

One problem is most bookstores keep it in the romance section. (At least all the ones I've visited.)

Hi everybody, I’m Jeannie and I am reading/re reading the in death series at the moment. It is one of my favourite series and am looking forward to #43 and above as I haven’t got to them yet. Hello, I'm Veda! I started reading Eve Dallas books (it's what I coined them @ the time) in the beginning (she was 5 in then) & look at the series now! I loved (still do) the Library & could devour them. Presently, I am awaiting (2 on pre-order right now), but they go sooooo fast 😲😵😳 the insomnia is worth it 😎

I'll introduce myself. I started reading the In Death series on Kindle and kind of petered out around book 20 or so. Then last summer (2017) I bought the Naked in Death as an audiobook to listen to while in Germany. I broke my leg and had to stay in the hospital for nine days. Eve Dallas became my best friend those nine days. I downloaded books 2 through 10 to keep me company. Very few people spoke English and I sure didn't know any German. I've been hooked since. Nora Roberts is having a book signing at her bookstore from 12-2 this Saturday. I live quite close, so I've decided I'd check it out.

Welcome, Rebecca! That’s a great story (sans the broken leg). So many members love the audio editions of the series so you’re part of a large fan group.

Welcome Rebecca! Lucky you living so close! I haven't done audio anything yet...only been 2-3 years that I've been doing e-books. Guess I'm a throwback... I still love holding a book in my hands; unfortunately I've run out of book shelf space and I have no room for more. Lol! Though it is nice when I travel to have so many books available to me without having to bring a suitcase full...those suckers can get heavy!

Hi everyone. I'm Hannah.

I picked up Naked in Death at the library in 2011, and I have been hooked ever since! I read quite a few of them, but I converted to the audiobooks about half way through. Now I own all of the audiobooks, several kindle books, and I'm (slowly) working on hardcover (signed) ones. It's a dream of mine to get all of them as signed hardcovers. But.... that may never happen. I will enjoy collecting them anyway. lol

I can't believe it has taken me until now to find this group! I know my sister gets tired of me going on and on about Dallas and Roarke. I'm excited to find others who love the ID world as much as I do. :)

I just started with the buddy read. It was odd for me to start in the middle of the series, but I am so excited to delve back into the ID world full of my favorite characters and chat about them with others. :)

Hi Hannah and welcome. I know what you mean - I was way into the series before I finally found this discussion group. It was so neat to discover other people who re-read the series too. One of the neatest things about this group is hearing different perceptions and interpretations of the books. Enjoy.

Hi. I joined because I am a huge fan of Nora/JD. I was recently rereading Concealed In Death. I thought she revealed Mavis' birth name in that book, but I can not find it anywhere. Can someone help me out? Its frustrating me to no end just because I forgot/ cant find it.
