It just amazes me that most of us started reading this series way out of kilter. If you are anything like me the long trek to start reading them in order was worth it. I now own a almost full set of paperbacks but the full set in e- format.

No Dawn that was referring to Carly wanting a real Rourke and LeiCa wanting brothers. I'll settle for. Cousin if it meant I'd sometimes get to spend time with any of these dream boats. Too many would want Rourke and brothers;-)
Welcome to the group, Helen! You're at a perfect place in the series. You've got some really good ones ahead of you.
Welcome, Vanessa! I, too, thought the futuristic element would turn me off and was surprised it didn't.
Enjoy the group!

Welcome, Carly! I'm so impressed by you and others here that had the smarts to start the series in order after having read one or two out of order.
Enjoy catching up!

Hi, Carly. So glad you joined us! So many readers have found this series by accident (or fate) and fell in love with it! Enjoy the group!

I discovered eve & roarke in the anthology that has an anita blake story then went back and started from the beginning and can say that not only do I read them but my mom and dad do too which means of course that I buy the hardcover on day of release then next day mail to my parents.
Ladyacct, we've been enjoying your posts so thanks for introducing yourself. Welcome and thanks for your contribution already!
Of course, I had to figure out where you started. The anthology was Out of this World and the book was Interlude in Death.

Hi Ladyacct...Welcome to the group! Glad you stopped by and introduced yourself. Enjoy the discussions!
I've been a member of the group for a while, but only just really started reading the forums (and will likely end up dropping in here and there as time permits) but figured I would introduce myself. I'm Beth and I'm a J.D. Robb Addict :) I think I'm on my 5th re-read of the entire series, and there are a few that I have read all or parts of more than that. I got hooked with the audio books, then had to get myself a complete set of the ebooks for easy searching. They are one of the few groups of books that have a home on my Kindle, so if I need a quick fix I always have them :)
Yay! Thanks for introducing yourself, Beth, even though we've been chatting with you. I love having the eBooks for quick references and fixes, too.
Have you been playing the games here with our resident series experts?

Jonetta, the games are my next stop after I finish glancing through the actual book threads :)

So I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm an avid reader who manages to read several several novels a week. I don't always post my books read on here becuase i forget!!
I have read several of JDR's In death series, but am currently going back and reading the in order. I'm starting "witness in Death tomorrow. I've read it before, but reading the books in order sure helps me to enjoy the evolutiona of Roarke and Eve's relationahips and the secondary relationships are great too!!!
I'm really glad you introduced yourself, Samantha, and decided to join some of the discussions. Thanks, too, for your testimonial about reading the books in order. That question comes up often and though I'm a big advocate of that position, it's nice for others to weigh in on the issue.
Welcome!
Welcome!
Hi Beth & Samantha..So happy to get to know fellow J D Robb addicts! I'm definitely a fan of reading a series in order too. That's the only way to see and understand the evolution of the characters & relationships in any series. Welcome to the group!

Hey Susan, I see you made it over! Welcome. I already know you're a fan and you'll get your "fix" here...some great discussions on these addictive books!
a hearty hi to all. I am an avid re-reader; am most like Peabody in manner and appearance but worship the goddess herself, Eve. Began reading the series a few years ago with Glory in Death. loved it and was advised by a sage friend to read them in order. funny thing, didn't know Roberts and Robb were same author. I remember looking at Robb's pic and thinking "huh, she looks like Pat Benatar." Anyway, happy to be here amongst other fans (and Galahad lovers).

I started reading the In Death books over 15 years ago...my mother was reading them and passed them along to me. I was hooked and kept reading even after we lost my mom in 1999--I just had to get the books on my own after that! I'm awaiting the next book...considering a re-read, as it's been awhile and I tend to breeze through the books. Again, so glad to be here!! :)

Hi Chef & Dana. Always happy to welcome fans of this awesome series! You'll find lots of good discussions on these books here. Jump in anytime!
Welcome, Dana! Ditto Dawn and Starshine. I imagine each time you read the next book you must think of your Mom warmly. What a great memory and legacy.
Enjoy the group!

Hi, Bonni! Happy you joined our group. I'm a big fan of Peabody too. Nobody writes it better than Nora/JD!!

Welcome, Deena! You've got a really good friend and congratulations on getting all of the translated books. Have fun and we're glad you're here.
thanks for the welcome. :) and for making me smile Jonetta

yes, she's the reason I read In Death series. but I blame her, because I found no way out from the series and, especially, Roarke... awww...!!
LOL..it's a double edge sword...so happy to have found the series and yet, so addictive! Just got to read more! Don't be too hard on your friend...she's the reason you found Roarke!
