I do read alot, so my challenge is fitting the books I'm reading that month into the shelf that's called that week!
Also, I live in Louisiana.

Thanks Steph!
Hi Leslie, how many rounds have you played? This is only my second.

Coming up with a name is not my forte, maybe if someone gets the ball rolling with suggestions, it'll kick start my creativity...

Unfortunately, I don't have great creativity as far as coming up with funny names. The only thing that comes to mind that rhymes with six is sexy and that seems cliche.
I hope more of our teammates check in soon. I've been thinking about what my Free Space read will be. I like to get that out of the way. I'll wait and see what shelf is called and then decide.

Also, after the shelf announcement is made today I will send a message to our remaining team members ;-)

Sorry, am I rambling? Do that sometimes, you'll get used to it ;)

I haven't picked out a book for Free Space yet, but I will soon. So many options!
Vivian - I have a ton of fifty cent books, because that's what my library seller used paperbacks for. I cant resist for only fifty cents, so my bookshelves just keep growing!!!

I wll message Lisa and Jodie to let them know the challenge has begun.
Also, I will assume I'm captain for the moment, and create a thread below to use for tracking our reads for this shelf.

Week 1: young-adult-paranormal
Lisa - Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor - Review (June 26) - ★★★★
Leslie - Soulless by Gail Carriger - Review (June 22) - ★★★★
Vivian - Blood Will Tell by Samantha Young - Review (June 19) - ★★★★
Jodie - Half-Blood by Jennifer Armentrout - Review (June 18) - ★★★★
Leah - White Cat by Holly Black - Review (June 21) - ★★★★

Will be starting today :)
Ps this is my first round, so if I do something wrong, pls ent be scared to message me. I'm soooo keen to make our team successful!

Half-Blood (Covenant #1) by Jennifer Armentrout.
Would someone mind telling me how to paste the book cover like Leah? Thanks gals.

See the top of the Comment box? There is a link, "Add book/author".
Click on it and it will open a little search box. There are two choices on the bottom of the box, you can add a link or a cover. Click "cover" and then type the name of the book you are looking for and press search. Next to each entry there is a little button labeled "add". Click the one next to the correct book (because sometimes you'll get multiple choices if it's a common name, etc.). And, ta-da! :D
I hope that helps. ;-)
Good luck and happy reading! :)
Updated to clarify.

Well, not crazy about this shelf. I'll have to look and see what I have coming up to read.
For the Free Space I will read Dead Witch Walking.

Hey Jodie, welcome to Bingo! It's tons of fun and really easy, this is only my second round. Don't be afraid to ask anything, we are a friendly group :)

Hi, Leah! Lurking around the threads, seeing if I can help out with the questions -- so hectic this first week, what with picking names, captains, and the free space books. ;)
I love the game, but I don't regret skipping this round.

Haha I didn't think that book was young adult at all. Gotta love people that shelve things oddly, but it really works out for Bingo!
Also, if anyone needs the Free Space rules, they are posted in a separate thread below all the team threads. Basically, you can pick any SOS Book of the Month, any book from SOS' new release folder, or any book from SOS' bookshelf.

Interested to see what you think about this one Jodie, I keep going back and forth on if I should check it out from the library.
Vivian - thanks for checking our bingo card :-)
I've updated the free space post. If anyone changes their mind, let me know.

And Leah, it took some hunting to finally find that elusive shelf for that book. I had a feeling that someone would shelve it that way. It was on the third page of shelf listings for the book.
I'm reading a YA book right now and really didn't want to add any others to my list of books for this month (not terribly fond of the genre!).

I was surprised by the number. I know it's only three more teams than last game...I just assumed that Steph would make larger teams. :)

LOL! Ditto that!

Oh, I was only thinking 6 people per team, 7 tops. I figured that was still manageable -- not 10 or something crazy like that. ;-)
Then again -- I didn't pay attention to the final number to know what it was evenly divisible by, either. :D

My free space book is : Hexed by Kevin Hearne

I've had it up to my ears with the YA books lately. They are good but just when they are about to get "really good" they turn all "PG" on me. I'm ready for something with some steam...see married for 10 yrs!
It was a blindly random pick. Anyone read it?

Welcome to the team!! Hope your Fahers Day event went well :-)

You guys will probably see me posting throughout the week to let you know how my book is going. I'm a fast reader, but no pressure for each of you. The important thing is to enjoy your read :-)

I've finished this weeks book, Half-Blood and will be reviewing in a couple of hours. Do I just post my review and then put a link to my review somewhere here?
I havent read it Lisa, but it is on my TBR pile, so am looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
Have a great day ladies!

You need to post your review here, so either do a synopsis of your review or just cut and paste it all, up to you.
Don't forget to state date read and rating as well :)

Appreciate your help.

Not to overhype it, but Daughter of Smoke and Bone is one of my favorite reads of this year. Original and completely absorbing read, and I thought the writing was superb, one of those the pages come to life kinda stories without feeling over-descriptive if that makes any sense. I enjoyed the whole book, but a lot of people I know preferred either the first or second half better since the focus kinda changes. I'd recommend it even if you weren't a huge YA fan.
I can't decide on my YA book, too many choices. I'm trying to pick a book I've already got, and it's narrowed down to:

They're all pretty different so it'll probably come down to mood, but any recs from these?
Leah, I'll let you know when I make my final decision. Didn't want to pick a book and then change my mind and make you change the post - I've been in your shoes and after a while, it gets tiring to do so repeatedly ;)

I read Cinder this year and loved it!! Very exciting, nontraditional take on Cinderella. You kept wondering what would happen, even though everyone is familiar with the traditional Cinderella story.
I haven't tried the others :)

Book Shelf Bingo – Young Adult Paranormal
Date read – Sunday 17th to Monday 18th June 2012
Rating - **** 4 Stars
I know it’s been said before (many times), Half-Blood has a lot of similarities to Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead – if you have read it, I am sure you will get it. We’ve got half bloods training to be guards or sentinels and they protect Hematoi (pure bloods) from Daimons (hematoi addicted to aether in pure bloods – eg like strigoi), and it’s set in the Covenant (aka the Academy). Alex (just like Rose, but maybe not as snarky) is way behind after disappearing for years and has one chance to catch up to her half blood peers or she will be placed into slavery. Enter Aiden (like Dimitri, but not as hilarious) a sentinel charged with the task of bringing her training up to date. I’m not complaining though, cause Vampire Academy is in my top 5 so I am always looking for something similar.
I enjoyed it. I loved that it didn’t take Alex the whole book to mature, it was as if she was growing throughout each chapter and endeavored to not make the same mistakes over again. Alex was fierce and determined and she knew exactly what she wanted and had opinions of her own.
Aiden, a Pure blood Sentinel with demons of his own (and totally off limits to Alex), was so sweet and caring and absolutely always had Alex’s best interests in the forefront of his mind. He pushed her right throughout their training but cared for her emotions and her injuries at the same time. Their attraction sizzled and I wanted more gazing & smiles. He was so supportive and I giggled to myself each time he had a stare down with Seth. I love me a jealous hottie!
Alex had to overcome her biggest fear in order to stay alive and it involved killing the one person she loved and who loved her in return. Although she doubted her ability to do so, she held fast with what she knew and believed as right and wrong.
Throughout the book we met many characters aside from the main 2 above and I have to admit I loved them all. Let’s start with Lea…I just know these two girls fight because they are secretly in love :D, next onto Caleb…Oh Caleb. What an amazing friend you are – clothes shopping, pizza bringing, being a shoulder to cry on and just being a best friend. Seth…hmmmm, I just dunno how I feel about him just yet, but don’t think I don’t know what that crazy old oracle was saying about ‘needing’ someone and ‘wanting’ someone. I know you’re needy :P
I am very much looking forward to starting Pure next and awaiting the 3rd book release in November this year. I have a feeling that this series is going to catapult up my love-love-love list! If you haven’t read this, and love Vampire Academy, give it a try, it does have many differences that include Greek mythology, and I just know there is going to be a battle for Alex to choose her own destiny.
A wonderful read!

The only one I have read is Blood Will Tell by Samantha Young, I didn't review it because I read it back when I wasn't really writing down my thoughts, but I did find it hard to get into at the beginning. I finished the series immediately and loved where the story went from the end of the first book, but I do remember just being a little grossed out by the whole soul eating thing. Was a wonderful series in the whole though.
Good luck :)
